## Hidden costs and limits

- The free plan excludes IMAP/POP/ActiveSync, you cannot use Apple Mail, Outlook desktop, Thunderbird, or any third-party email client. You are locked into Zoho's webmail and mobile app
- Mail Lite storage is only 5GB per user (expandable to 10GB), heavy email users with large attachments will hit limits. Compare to Google Workspace's 30GB or Microsoft 365's 50GB
- Workplace bundles (Standard at $3/user/mo, Professional at $6/user/mo) are needed for team file storage, docs, spreadsheets, and video meetings, mail-only plans lack collaboration tools
- Migration from Gmail or Outlook requires using Zoho's migration tool, which can take days for large mailboxes and occasionally loses folder structures or labels
- Monthly billing adds ~25% to the price (Mail Lite goes from $1 to $1.25/user/mo), annual commitment is effectively required for the best rates
