# How Toolradar Comparison Pages Work for Vendors

By [Toolradar Editorial Team](https://toolradar.com/editorial-policy) Updated 6 November 2026 8 min read

A Toolradar comparison page puts selected software products side by side using information available to the directory. A vendor should check its own product's facts, the date and source of any displayed pricing, and the context of a feature or review before asking for a correction. A comparison is not a promise that every product is evaluated in the same way or that a listed product will be recommended by an AI assistant.

Toolradar operates a software directory and offers vendor tools and sponsored placements. It is part of Dupple, which sells newsletter sponsorships. The [editorial policy](https://toolradar.com/editorial-policy) and [commercial disclosure](https://toolradar.com/how-we-make-money) explain these relationships. A sponsored box is a separate advertising format; its purchase is not a guarantee of a comparison result.

## Start with the products and the exact page

Toolradar's comparison route accepts a URL containing at least two and at most four product slugs. The public [compare page](https://toolradar.com/compare) is the starting point for choosing products. A particular comparison can still be unavailable or unsuitable for indexing; the maximum number of slugs is a route limit, not a promise that every possible group has a public or indexed page.

For examples of the presentation, see [Slack versus Discord](https://toolradar.com/compare/slack-vs-discord) and [Notion versus Obsidian](https://toolradar.com/compare/notion-vs-obsidian), checked 6 November 2026. These are real comparison pages, not customers endorsing Toolradar or examples of a paid placement. Their sections differ because the products and available information differ. The example pages do not establish a universal winner for another buyer's requirements.

A vendor should record the canonical URL and identify which product and field are in question. Check whether the concern is on the product profile, a pricing subpage, a comparison page or a separate advertising unit. Similar text can appear in more than one place, so a precise URL and a short description help a reviewer find the issue. Do not submit a second product listing merely because an existing comparison is missing a detail; first look for the existing profile.

## Read each field in context

A side-by-side view may contain a description, plan information, features, source ratings or editorial comparison text, depending on what is available for the products. A missing value can mean that Toolradar lacks a usable record, not that the product lacks the feature. A displayed value can also become stale after the vendor changes its service. Use the official product documentation to establish the current behavior.

| Comparison element | What a vendor can examine | Boundary |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Product identity | Name, product URL and whether the page points to the intended product. | Similar names do not prove two records describe the same service. |
| Description and use case | Whether the wording describes the current product and the relevant task. | A short summary cannot cover every deployment or feature. |
| Pricing or plan | The displayed unit, currency, billing condition and any check date. | A past check date does not guarantee today's price or a buyer's quote. |
| Feature or integration | The exact wording and the product configuration to which it applies. | A missing or generic field is not proof of absence in every plan. |
| Review information | The source and what the displayed number or excerpt represents. | An aggregate or quotation is not a guarantee of a future user's experience. |
| Paid placement | The location and visible label of any advertising unit. | Buying an ad is not a right to dictate an independent comparison. |

The table is a checklist for reading the page, not a complete list of every field or an assertion that every comparison displays each one. Toolradar's [pricing-check guide](https://toolradar.com/vendors/guides/how-pricing-is-checked) describes the distinction between a recorded check and current vendor terms. The [review-response guide](https://toolradar.com/vendors/guides/respond-to-reviews) covers a separate process for responding to reviews.

## Prepare a correction that can be checked

Use a public official source that addresses the specific field. For example, if a comparison describes an integration as unavailable but the product's current documentation explains a supported connector, provide the affected comparison URL, the exact sentence and the official integration page. If the capability applies only to a particular edition, region or configuration, include that condition. An announcement, a roadmap item and a generally available feature are different claims.

For a pricing issue, supply the current official pricing URL and identify the plan, currency, unit and billing condition involved. Do not ask the directory to display a fabricated amount for a quote-only offer. If a public plan has changed, the [pricing-check guide](https://toolradar.com/vendors/guides/how-pricing-is-checked) explains how check dates and vendor-stated changes are handled. Toolradar may need to verify the source before changing a published field.

For a description issue, propose a factual correction rather than a marketing superlative. A statement such as “supports this documented export format in the named plan” can be checked; “best for every team” cannot be established by a product announcement. Identify whether the official source applies to the current version and whether the comparison's wording omits a material limitation. Do not include private customer records, credentials or contractual pricing in a public request.

## A worked example: an integration claim

Imagine a fictional project tool called Northstar Planner. Its vendor sees a comparison sentence that says its product cannot export a particular file format. The vendor's current public documentation says the export is available in a named edition. A useful correction identifies the comparison URL, the product, the sentence, the edition and the documentation URL, then explains whether the feature has a region or version restriction. Northstar Planner is invented; this is not a real vendor request or a promise of an edit.

A reviewer can then compare the visible sentence with the official source and decide what change is warranted. The outcome may be a correction, a qualification, a request for more information or no change if the evidence does not support the proposed wording. The vendor should revisit the live page after a response rather than assuming an unpublished draft is already visible. A correction to a fact does not require the directory to adopt the vendor's preferred overall verdict.

If the issue concerns another company's product, do not claim access to its private information. Point to the specific public source and let the directory assess the record. If a customer quotation is involved, establish the customer and the exact permission to use it before supplying it for publication. A positive review, a benchmark and a paid sponsorship are not interchangeable forms of evidence.

## Use the appropriate vendor route

If your product is already listed, the [company-claim guide](https://toolradar.com/vendors/guides/claim-company-page) explains how to establish control of its profile. The [listing guide](https://toolradar.com/vendors/guides/list-your-software) covers a new submission when a product is absent. The [vendor page](https://toolradar.com/vendors) describes the current vendor tools; confirm the available route for the specific correction rather than assuming that editing a profile automatically changes every comparison immediately.

Keep a small record of the URL, the field, the source and the date the request was made. If a public source changes later, repeat the check. A directory may display a price check date, but a check is a historical event and is not a guarantee that every plan remains unchanged. For a buyer, the vendor's current terms and an appropriate product evaluation still matter.

Toolradar also offers advertising formats, including a [sponsored box](https://toolradar.com/advertise/formats/sponsored-box). A labeled advertising unit is separate from correcting a comparison fact. Ask for the location, disclosure, duration and reporting in the proposal; do not assume that a paid placement changes an independent score, guarantees a citation or gives control over another product's description. The [advertising formats page](https://toolradar.com/advertise/formats) explains the available formats and their boundaries.

## Check what the page can and cannot establish

Comparison pages can help a buyer find questions to investigate: whether each product has a relevant integration, how its published plans are described, or where a feature differs. They cannot establish the right choice for every organization. A current feature description may not address a buyer's security, geographic, accessibility or contractual requirements. A review count does not independently prove performance in that buyer's environment.

A crawler request for a page is also different from a citation or recommendation. The [AI crawler report](https://toolradar.com/reports/ai-crawler-reads-by-category) records a defined set of requests to tool pages, not proof that any specific comparison appeared in an assistant's answer. If a vendor checks AI visibility, it should record the prompt, service, settings, date and actual answer, then distinguish a brand mention from a link to a specific comparison. One answer cannot establish a permanent result.

Do not infer a paid placement's effectiveness from a directory count or a successful page fetch. Define an outcome your team can actually observe, such as a visit to an official documentation page or an authorized evaluation request, and compare it with your own baseline. A click does not prove a qualified buyer or a sale, and small samples or overlapping campaigns limit attribution.

## What we could not verify

We have not independently tested every feature, price, review or integration shown across Toolradar comparisons. We cannot guarantee that a specific correction will be accepted, that a comparison will be indexed, or that any search engine or assistant will cite it. Product terms and the page's available data may change. Verify the live page and the official source for the particular question.

## Frequently asked questions

### How many products can a comparison URL contain?

The Toolradar comparison route accepts two to four product slugs. A valid-looking URL is not a guarantee that every combination has an available or indexed page.

### Does a missing feature mean the product cannot do it?

Not necessarily. The directory may lack a usable value, or the feature may depend on a plan or configuration. Check the official documentation and identify the affected page when requesting a correction.

### How can a vendor report an incorrect comparison fact?

Provide the exact page and field, the current official source and any relevant plan, version or regional condition. Use the appropriate vendor or corrections route and check the live result after review.

### Can a sponsored box change the comparison verdict?

A sponsored box is a separate labeled advertising format. Buying one does not give a vendor the right to dictate an independent comparison or guarantee a score, citation or sale.

### Does an AI crawler request mean the comparison was recommended?

No. A request records an access event under the relevant report's method; it does not reveal an assistant's answer, a recommendation or a purchase.
