Rise for speed, Storyline for depth, Frontline for fast team training

Pros

  • On top of Rise and Storyline, the most up-to-date:
  • Frontline converts existing documents and presentations into a full training kit: step-by-step guides, quick references, interactive videos, practice scenarios and decks. It all comes from one source file. Edit the source once and every asset updates.
  • Nova, the AI agent inside Articulate 360, translates training into 80+ languages and keeps the formatting. It also creates avatar-led videos from a script.
  • Frontline needs no authoring seat and no instructional design background. Sales, support and IT teams can build training without waiting on the L&D team.

Cons

  • Frontline and the rest of Articulate 360 don’t work well together. It’s unclear how AI-generated content works in Storyline, and it’s difficult to know when to use one or the other.
  • Frontline and Nova were announced in September 2026, so they don’t have a very long track record yet.
  • Storyline has a steep learning curve for advanced users when it comes to its logic.
  • Rise doesn’t offer as much control over design as Storyline does.
  • The desktop version of Storyline is Windows-based. Mac users need an alternative solution.

Use cases
