Listing is free. You verify your company, paste your website into the submit form, press Auto-fill and then check every field before you send it. Every submission is checked automatically first: a clean listing from a verified company goes live within minutes, and anything else is read by a person within ten business days.

What a listing is and what it costs
A listing is a product record on Toolradar: the name, tagline, description, who it is for, features, logo and, when you give them, pricing plans and a pricing page. After approval the product gets its own page and can appear on category, comparison and alternatives pages. The vendor page says creating and claiming a listing cost nothing, and that advertising and content services are sold separately and are never a condition of being listed.
A listing does not buy a ranking. The ranking score and Toolradar Data take no advertising input. Paid placements exist, and they are sold on their own terms, as described on the advertising page. The method behind the ranking score and Toolradar Data is on how we rate.
What to have ready before you start
- A company account whose domain matches your product's website; a listing publishes on its own only when they match. A personal email address is refused for an unverified company.
- A verified company. The submit form opens only after the company is verified with a company email or a DNS record on its domain.
- A live website that a reviewer can read. The homepage must load, and a parked domain is refused.
- The brand name, 60 characters or fewer. Use the name the company uses, not a headline.
- One sentence for the tagline and a factual description of 500 characters or fewer.
- One sentence naming who the product is for, at least 12 characters long.
- At least three concrete features, such as "SAML SSO" rather than "enterprise-ready".
- Optional: a logo (PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF, 1 MB at most), up to five screenshot URLs, your pricing model, a pricing page URL, your plans with their prices, and the page where the badge will appear.
The submission, step by step
Every fact in your submission must match your own website and pricing page. The form asks for a factual, concise description without marketing language, and the check compares your text and plans with your site, so write what the site says and nothing more.
- Sign in and open the company submit page. A signed-out visitor is sent to log in, a user without a company to company setup, and an unverified company to verification. The form appears only when all three are in place.
- Under "The basics", type your website in "Website URL", for example example.com, then press Auto-fill or Enter. Auto-fill reads your own pages and fills the name, tagline, description, logo, features and pricing. It tells you which fields it filled, and you check each one. If it cannot read the site, nothing is filled and you type the fields yourself.
- Check "Tool name". Type the brand name only, for example "Notion". The form refuses a name over 60 characters and shows its length. A shorter name that reads like a headline or a search phrase passes the form, but it is not published automatically and can come back as "The product name needs to change".
- Check "Tagline" and "Description". The tagline is one sentence. The description says what the product does in a sentence or two, in plain words. The field asks you to avoid marketing language.
- Under "Who it is for", write one sentence that names the buyer and the situation. The form's own example is "Ops teams of 10 to 50 that outgrew spreadsheets".
- Under "The product", add at least three features in "Key features". Each one should be a capability your site documents. Screenshots are optional, up to five image URLs.
- Under "Pricing", choose Free, Freemium or Paid. Paste the "Pricing page URL" if you have one. Plans are optional. A plan you type needs both a name and a price, because a plan with only one of them is not sent. Leave the plans empty and Toolradar reads them from your pricing page after approval.
- Optional sections come next: the FAQ, the field "Where will you display your Toolradar badge?" and "Anything you can share that we cannot get from your site?". The last one is for facts such as a customer count or a published benchmark, and the form says verifiable numbers get you quoted, with a link back.
- Press "Submit for review". A company that is already verified skips the human check. Everyone else must pass Cloudflare Turnstile first. A company can send up to 2 submissions an hour and 5 a day, and rejected submissions count toward both. A product that already has a submission in review is refused with a message that says you will hear by email.
After you submit, the form shows "Submission received" and says that a clean listing from a verified company goes live within minutes, and that anything else is read by a person within ten business days. You get an email either way. The submissions page lists each submission as "Being checked", "Live on Toolradar" or "Not approved".
What the automatic check looks at, and who reads it after
Every submission passes three layers. The hard rules run at submit time: a valid name and website, no duplicate of a submission already in review, and no file or format converter, because Toolradar does not list them. The site check loads the homepage and the pricing page you name, and it refuses a parked domain. The AI review compares the submission with the editorial bar and returns approve, review or reject, a score from 0 to 10 and flags for patterns Toolradar does not list or cannot judge, such as a directory or review site, a keyword-built SEO tool, a site named after another company's model, a non-software product, a prohibited product, a file or format converter, a submission not written in English, or a submission that is unusable as written.
The decision follows fixed rules. A listing publishes on its own only when the AI approves with a score of 7 or more and no flags, the site loads, the address is not a free-hosting subdomain such as a builder's address, the site does not redirect to another domain, the company has proven that it owns the domain and the name does not read like a headline. A clear miss is rejected with the AI's feedback when the AI verdict is reject, the score is 3 or less and at least one flag applies. Everything else goes to a person, and the admins are told. A page on a domain that another listing already uses, or an update to a listing that another company owns, always goes to a person. A resubmission after a human rejection publishes on its own only when the AI review also confirms that every change the person asked for is visible on your site; otherwise it goes back to a person.
Typical rejection reasons and the fix for each
Table: The reasons below are the plain-English messages the rejection notice uses.
| Reason | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The product name needs to change | The name reads as a keyword, a headline or another company's model name | Use the brand name your company uses |
| We need proof that you own the product | The submitting address or the company verification does not show control of the domain | Sign in with an email on your domain, or claim the profile with your company email, then resubmit |
| Some details do not match your site | Plans or prices differ from your public pricing page, or the description claims more than the site says | Make the plans and prices identical to the pricing page, add its link and align the description |
| We could not check your website | The site is parked, not live, down or unreadable | Make the site live and readable by anyone, in English if possible, then resubmit |
| The submission needs more detail | The description or the features are missing or too thin | Describe what the product does and add at least three concrete features |
| It did not pass our editorial review | Too little public information: few docs, no clear pricing or owner, or an unclear description | Say on your site what the product does, who it is for and what it costs, and link a pricing page, documentation and public proof |
| This product is already on Toolradar | A listing for this product already exists | Claim the existing profile from your company dashboard instead of submitting again |
| This type of product is not listed | The product is outside the directory's scope or against its rules | Editing will not change this decision; reply to the rejection email with a link that shows what the product is |
| We could not list this as submitted | No usable reason was recorded | Reply to the rejection email and you will be told what to change |
Editing cannot change two of these: a product that is already listed and a type of product Toolradar does not list. The status page shows "Fix and resubmit" when editing can change the decision, and "Edit and resubmit anyway" when it probably cannot. Resubmitting restarts the automatic check. Resubmitting without changes gets the same answer, so change what the note points to first.
What happens after approval
- The status becomes "Live on Toolradar", and the product is published as soon as it is approved.
- Logo: at approval Toolradar first looks for the best logo on your site, and that lookup refuses anything under 48 by 48 pixels. A logo you pasted (PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF, 1 MB at most) is used only when the lookup finds nothing. If you left the logo empty, the lookup also runs right after you submit.
- Pricing: for a paid or freemium listing with no plans typed, Toolradar reads the plans from your pricing page after publication. A plan is stored only when a real price is read. A free listing is not read this way.
- Badge: once the listing is approved, the embed code is under the Badges page of the company area. When the badge sits on a page of your own site, the one you named in the form, Toolradar checks for a link back, and the check counts a link only when it is found and carries no nofollow, ugc or sponsored value. Vendors who display the badge become verified vendors, and later updates to their listing are reviewed within 48 hours.
- Vendor dashboard: the approved listing is attached to your company, so you edit it, see analytics, answer reviews and get badges from the company area.
Common mistakes
- Typing a headline or a keyword phrase in "Tool name" instead of the brand name.
- Copying marketing claims into the description that the product's own site does not make.
- Typing a plan price from memory instead of copying it from the pricing page.
- Typing a plan with a name but no price, or a price with no name. Such a plan is not sent.
- Submitting the same product again while the first submission is still in review. The second one is refused.
- Pressing Auto-fill and submitting without reading each field. The form asks you to check each value and change anything that is off.
- Submitting a file or format converter. Toolradar does not list them.
- Resubmitting a rejected listing with no changes, which gets the same answer.
- Expecting a listing to change your search or AI rankings. The vendor page says there is no guarantee.
Worked example (fictional company)
Example (fictional company). Harbor Ledger is a made-up bookkeeping app for freelancers. Its company is verified with a company email. Its founder, Maya, pastes harborledger.example into "Website URL" and presses Auto-fill. Auto-fill fills the name with a headline, "Harbor Ledger: Bookkeeping for Freelancers", so Maya changes it to "Harbor Ledger". She keeps the tagline and rewrites the description in the site's own words. For "Who it is for" she writes "Freelance designers and consultants who invoice fewer than 30 clients a year". She lists three features that the site documents: bank feed import, invoice reminders and quarterly tax summaries. She chooses Freemium, pastes the pricing page URL and copies each plan's name and price exactly from that page. Then she presses "Submit for review".
The outcome depends on the automatic check. Her company is verified and the website is on its domain, so if the AI review approves with a score of 7 or more and no flags and the site loads, the listing publishes within minutes. If the review sends it to a person, the wait is up to ten business days. A rejection would arrive by email with a note that says what to change, and Maya would edit the same answers and resubmit.
What Toolradar's submission records show
Our data: at 18:30 UTC on 5 November 2026, Toolradar's read-only operational snapshot contained 1,623 submission records created from 1 January through 5 November 2026. Of these, 1,260 currently had status approved and 363 had other statuses combined. The aggregate CSV and method describe the window and query. No product or company identifiers are published.
These are records, not necessarily distinct products, companies or completed sales. Status is the value at extraction, not necessarily the decision in the same period. The combined group includes more than one status; it does not explain why a submission is there. Older and later submissions are excluded. The snapshot does not measure review duration, traffic or the probability that a new submission will be approved.
What we could not verify
The snapshot is an unaudited count of submission records, not distinct products, decision reasons or observed review times, so it cannot tell you how long your review will take or whether your product will be approved. We did not measure how often a clean listing is published automatically or how often each rejection reason is used. The timings on this page are the ones Toolradar states on its own pages, and we did not measure them. A listing, a claim or a paid placement does not guarantee a buyer, a sale, a search position or an AI recommendation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I submit my software to Toolradar?
Sign in with your company account, verify the company, then open the submit form. Paste your website and press Auto-fill, check the name, tagline, description, who it is for and the three features, then press Submit for review. Prepare the brand name, a one-sentence tagline and a factual description before you start.
Is listing software on Toolradar free?
Yes. The vendor page says creating and claiming a listing cost nothing. Toolradar also sells advertising and content services separately, and a listing does not depend on buying them. A paid placement does not change the ranking score, which takes no advertising input.
Does submitting a form guarantee that my product goes live?
No. Every submission is checked first. Anything the automatic check does not clear goes to a person, who can also reject it. A rejection states the reason, and some rejections cannot be changed by editing the listing.
How long does the review take?
A clean listing from a verified company goes live within minutes. Everything else is read by a person within ten business days. Resubmitting restarts the automatic check. The 48 hour review applies to later updates from vendors who display the badge, once the listing is live.
Do I need to verify my company before I can submit?
Yes. The submit form opens only for a verified company. Verification uses a company email or a DNS record on the company's domain. A personal email address is refused for an unverified company.
Will a listing change my search or AI rankings?
There is no guarantee. A listing gives buyers and AI assistants a structured page to read, plus category, comparison and alternatives pages, but search engines and AI assistants decide what they show for each query. The ranking score takes no advertising input.
What happens to my logo and pricing after approval?
At approval Toolradar looks for the best logo on your site and uses a logo you pasted only when that lookup finds nothing. The lookup refuses anything under 48 by 48 pixels. For a paid or freemium listing with no plans typed, the plans are read from your pricing page after publication, and a plan is stored only when a real price is read.
My product is already listed. What do I do?
Do not submit it again. Claim the existing profile from your company dashboard and edit it there. The claim requires a work email on the product's domain, and a rejection that says the product is already listed points you to the same claim step.
Spotted an outdated price or a wrong fact? Suggest a correction: we check it against the vendor's own page. Work for one of these vendors? Claim your listing to update it yourself.
