What you get

  • The first workspace on a new Airtable account is automatically upgraded to a 14-day complimentary trial of the Team plan.[1]
  • The trial includes most Team plan features. It excludes the custom script automation action and premium form features: custom header images, branding removal and conditional groups.[1]
  • After the trial, Team costs $20 per collaborator per month billed annually, or $24 per collaborator per month billed monthly. The page does not name the currency.[1]
  • The Free plan that the workspace falls back to allows 1,000 records per base, 5 collaborators with Editor or Creator permissions, 1 GB of attachment storage per base, 100 automation runs per workspace per month and 1,000 API calls per workspace per month.[1]

Who qualifies and the limits

  • New accounts only. Free plan workspaces created later under the same account do not get the complimentary Team trial.[1]
  • The vendor's support article does not say whether a credit card is required to start the trial.[1]
  • When the 14-day trial ends, the workspace can stay on the Free plan or upgrade to a paid plan at any time. Adding a payment method during the trial upgrades the workspace to Team and starts billing.[1]

How to claim it

  1. Create a new Airtable account. The trial applies to the first workspace that account creates.
  2. Check the workspace plan after sign-up. The first workspace on a new account is upgraded to the Team trial automatically.
  3. Use the Team features during the 14 days. Leave out the custom script automation action and the premium form features, which the trial does not include.
  4. Before the trial ends, choose to stay on the Free plan or upgrade. Adding a payment method upgrades the workspace to Team and starts billing.
  5. If you need more time, you cannot extend the trial yourself. Contact Airtable Support to ask.

Our take

Worth testing if you are starting fresh, since the trial only covers the first workspace on a new account. Once the trial ends, the Free plan caps each base at 1,000 records and 5 editor seats, so a growing team will move to a paid plan at $20 per collaborator a month billed annually.

Airtable deal: questions

Do I need a credit card to start the trial?

Airtable's plans article does not say that a card is required to start. Adding a payment method upgrades the workspace to Team and starts billing.

What happens when the trial ends?

Airtable's billing help says that if no payment method is on file when the trial ends, the workspace downgrades to the Free plan. You can also upgrade to a paid plan at any time.

Is there a promo code?

Airtable's pricing page lists no promo code; it links to separate plans for nonprofits and education. The 14-day Team trial starts on the first workspace of a new account, with no code.
