What you get
- Up to 30 days of Fastmail, free at sign-up. The trial is described as "Try free for up to 30 days".[1]
- After the trial, Individual (1 user, 60 GB total) costs $6 a month billed monthly, or $5 a month on a 12-month term ($60 total).[1]
- Personal plans run from $6 a month (Individual) to $14 a month for Family, which covers up to 6 people. Business plans start at $4 per user a month (Basic, 6 GB per user).[1]
- Trial accounts can send a maximum of 120 messages per day and can have up to five email addresses.[2]
- Trial accounts cannot create websites, forwarding rules or custom Sieve rules, and they are not permitted to share files.[2]
Who qualifies and the limits
- No credit card is required to sign up for a trial account. Fastmail may ask for a mobile phone number to send an SMS verification code.[2]
- If no payment is made by the end of the trial, the account loses its ability to send and receive mail. It is later disabled and eventually deleted.[2]
- Submitting payment ends the trial and starts the subscription period. You cannot change your plan during the trial period.[2]
- Fastmail does not offer refunds for unused subscriptions, so the trial is the time to decide.[1]
How to claim it
- Open the Fastmail pricing page and choose the plan you want to test.
- Start the sign-up. The trial does not ask for a credit card.
- If Fastmail asks for a mobile number, enter it and type in the SMS verification code it sends.
- Use the account during the trial. Sending is capped at 120 messages a day, and forwarding rules are not available.
- To keep the account, submit payment before the trial period ends. Payment starts the subscription.
Our take
Worth a test if you want one mailbox and a clear exit point. The trial caps sending at 120 messages a day and blocks forwarding rules, so check those limits fit your use before the trial ends.
