What you get
- The Free plan is listed at $0 forever for 300 credits a month, with a hard limit and no auto recharge option.[2]
- The pricing page lists deploys, previews, functions, databases, blob storage, custom domains with SSL, firewall rules and a global CDN on the Free plan.[1]
- Each successful production deploy uses 15 credits. Bandwidth uses 20 credits per GB, and 10,000 web requests use 2 credits.[3]
- The Free plan allows 1 concurrent build, 1 Team Owner and up to 500 projects.[2]
- Personal costs $9 per month for 1,000 credits a month.[2]
- Pro starts at $20 per month for 3,000 credits a month, with unlimited team seats. The page states these prices per month and does not say whether they are billed monthly or yearly.[4]
Who qualifies and the limits
- The Free plan allows 1 Team Owner and 1 concurrent build. Netlify's plans documentation sets both limits.[2]
- Free credits do not roll over, and the Free plan has no option to buy more credits. Credit packs and auto recharge are offered only on the Personal and Pro plans.[3]
- You will never be charged for the Free plan, according to Netlify's plans documentation. The pricing page does not say whether a card is needed to sign up.[2]
- The comparison shows no team seats on Free, against unlimited team seats on Pro.[4]
How to claim it
- Open the Netlify pricing page and find the plan priced at $0 forever.
- Sign up for a Netlify account. The pricing page lists no code to enter.
- Deploy your site. Production deploys and bandwidth draw from the 300 credits. Deploy Previews and branch deploys cost 0 credits to create, but web requests to them still count toward the web requests meter.
- Watch the monthly credit use. The Free plan has a hard limit, so the paid plans on the pricing page are the route if you need more credits or concurrent builds.
Our take
Good for a personal site or a small project that stays under 300 credits a month. A busy site can hit the hard limit quickly, the Free plan allows only 1 concurrent build, and when the credits run out every web project on the account pauses for visitors.
Netlify deal: questions
Do I need a credit card for the Netlify Free plan?
The pricing page does not say whether a card is needed to sign up. Netlify's plans documentation says you will never be charged for the Free plan.
What happens when the 300 credits run out?
Once the balance is used up, all web projects on the account are paused and visitors see a Site not available page. Netlify's free vs Pro page says projects pause until the next billing cycle.
Is there a promo code or a free trial of a paid plan?
The pricing page lists no promo code and does not mention a free trial of a paid plan. The Free plan itself is the offer.
