What It Is
A calendar app holds events, and a scheduling tool lets someone else book one of those slots. Cal.com is the second job, with a free plan that is one user. Google Calendar and Notion Calendar are the first job: a place the day lives. Notion Calendar also sends a scheduling link, which is the overlap.
Why It Matters
People search for a free calendar and land on a booking product that bills per seat the day a teammate joins. Cal.com says the free plan is one user. That sentence is the whole decision for a team. A personal calendar can stay free. A team booking page usually cannot.
Key Features to Look For
An ongoing free plan, or a listing that is Free, not a 14-day trial
More than one calendar in the same view
A scheduling link, if the job is letting other people book you
A printed seat cap on the free plan, when the vendor has one
A paid step whose price is on the same page
What to Consider
One person or a team. Cal.com Free is 1 user. Teams is the plan that adds people, at $12 per user per month billed yearly.
Whose calendar it is. Notion Calendar's FAQ says it syncs Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple iCloud. It is an overlay, not a second source of truth.
Google Calendar is listed Free. Workspace prices were not fetched for this page, so they are not guessed.
Reclaim appears twice in the catalog, under two slugs. It is not a pick here until that duplicate is one product.
Evaluation Checklist
Decide if the job is a personal calendar or a booking link other people use
Count the users before you call Cal.com free. The free plan is one
If the events already live in Google Calendar, start there
Do not treat a missing Notion Calendar price as a promise that it stays free
