Shoeboxed is a comprehensive receipt scanning and organization service designed to help individuals, freelancers, small businesses, and accountants manage their expenses efficiently. It transforms physical and digital receipts into organized, human-verified data, making bookkeeping and tax preparation significantly easier. The service offers multiple ways to submit receipts, including mailing them in a prepaid "Magic Envelope," uploading via mobile app, emailing, using a Gmail plugin for auto-import, or drag-and-dropping files. Once submitted, Shoeboxed extracts key information like vendor, total, date, and sales tax, categorizes it into 15 standard tax categories (or custom ones), and stores it in a cloud-based dashboard. Users can then generate audit-proof expense reports, track mileage, and integrate with popular accounting software like QuickBooks Online and Xero, ensuring they are always ready for tax season or audits.
