Best MCP Servers for Customer Support in 2026
The four vendor-official MCP servers for Intercom, Front, Gorgias and Crisp, the read-versus-act scopes a helpdesk needs, and why Zendesk's absence matters.
Toolradar data: we track 341 MCP servers, and 83% are published by the vendor on its own domain rather than as community projects (only 59 of 341 live on a github.com URL). 30% are free (101 of 341); the rest attach to a paid product.
Support is the vertical where an MCP server earns its keep fastest. The assistant that can read the ticket thread, the customer record and the order history in one place answers in a single pass what a human agent assembles from three tabs. These are the vendor-official servers for the support stack, and the honest gaps in it.
The helpdesks with an official server
Intercom MCP
Best for: teams whose support lives in Intercom
Official server exposing conversations and customer data, so an assistant can read a thread and the customer behind it together rather than as two lookups. Paid product.
Front MCP
Best for: teams running shared-inbox support
Official server for Front's shared inbox: threads, assignments and the collaborative state a plain helpdesk does not model. Paid product.
Gorgias MCP
Best for: e-commerce support teams
Reads and acts on tickets, customers and orders, and the order context is the point: Gorgias is built for commerce support, where "where is my package" is most of the queue. Paid product.
Crisp MCP
Best for: smaller teams on live chat
Official server for live chat and support, aimed at teams that want assistant help without an enterprise helpdesk underneath. Free tier.
The gap worth naming
Zendesk and Freshdesk, the two largest helpdesks by installed base, ship no official MCP server in our catalog yet. This is the single most useful thing to know before planning around MCP in support: if your helpdesk is one of these, the choices today are waiting for the official server or trusting a community wrapper, and for a system full of customer PII we would wait. Naming the absence is more useful than padding the list with a wrapper we would not run.
The four, compared
| Server | Official | Pricing | Connects to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intercom MCP | Yes | Paid product | Intercom conversations |
| Front MCP | Yes | Paid product | Front shared inbox |
| Gorgias MCP | Yes | Paid product | Gorgias tickets + orders |
| Crisp MCP | Yes | Free tier | Crisp live chat |
What makes support different from every other vertical
Every ticket is customer PII. The distinction that decides the authorisation is read against act. An assistant that reads tickets to draft replies is a productivity tool; one that can close, merge or send is an agent making customer-visible moves under your brand. Gorgias exposes both, which is powerful and precisely why the grant deserves a second look.
The answer usually lives outside the helpdesk. A support assistant is only as good as the context beyond the ticket, which is why teams pair the helpdesk server with their CRM server rather than running it alone. The ticket says what the customer asked; the CRM says who they are.
How to deploy one without regret
Draft-only first. The deployment that survives a bad hallucination is the one where the agent drafts and a human sends. Grant reply and send scopes only after draft quality has earned it.
Scope to one inbox before all of them. Most helpdesk servers can see everything the authorising account can. Start the assistant on one queue, watch what it does, then widen.
Methodology
Each server is a published, vendor-official entry in the Toolradar catalog, verified against the vendor's domain. We rank by nothing here: with four credible servers, grouping by job and naming the absences serves the reader better than a manufactured order. Reviews are not used, because an MCP server inherits its parent product's review count and would rank the vendor rather than the server. Pricing reflects the server itself.
FAQ
Can the assistant reply to customers directly?
Only if the server exposes send or reply actions and you grant them. Draft-only keeps the model away from the customer unmediated, the right first posture for anything brand-facing.
What about Zendesk and Freshdesk?
No official MCP server from either in our catalog yet. Their absence is real and worth planning around rather than papering over with a community wrapper.
Does a support server measure response quality?
No. These servers move data; they do not score it. Resolution-time and CSAT still live in the helpdesk's own analytics.
