Front MCP

Front MCP is the official Model Context Protocol server for Front, the shared inbox and customer communication platform. It lets an assistant work inside team inboxes, reading what came in, deciding what it is, and acting on it, without a custom integration built against Front's REST API. The server treats conversations as the central object. An agent can list and search conversations, fetch a single conversation with its messages and internal comments, and update conversation properties such as status. It can assign or unassign a conversation to a teammate, add an internal comment for the humans on the thread, and send messages or replies. Around that it reaches inboxes and their channels, including listing the conversations in a given inbox and creating new inboxes, plus tag management: listing, creating and updating tags and applying or removing them on conversations. Contact records attached to a conversation can be read and updated. The clearest fit is triage. An agent reads an incoming message, classifies it by topic, applies tags, routes it to the right team or teammate, and drafts a first pass reply that a human approves before it goes out. Support, customer success and shared operations inboxes are the usual homes for it. Since the same server can send customer facing messages, keep send tools behind explicit approval and start with read and routing access only.
