Best ChatGPT Rank Tracker in 2026

TL;DR

Short answer: Peec AI is the ChatGPT rank tracker to buy in 2026 if you want a position, not a vague visibility score. Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts, you choose 3 models, and ChatGPT has to be one of them. Otterly Lite is the cheap daily check at $29 a month for 15 prompts, with ChatGPT already in the price. Rankscale Essentials at $20 a month fits when you will query ChatGPT and skip the other engines, and Profound still publishes no paid price.

252 SEO Tools tools tracked

A ChatGPT rank tracker should tell you where your brand sits inside ChatGPT's answer for the prompts you care about. Peec AI's Starter plan does that job: position is a named metric, the check is daily, and the entry bill is one project rather than an agency pool.

The tools below are not interchangeable dashboards, and the difference shows up on the invoice. Some include ChatGPT in the sticker price, some make you spend a model slot or a credit on it, and a few only show ChatGPT inside a giant prompt index that is mostly Google's AI Overviews. A strong score on that index can be a Google surface, which is the wrong number if the meeting is about ChatGPT.

Toolradar data: among the 252 SEO tools we track, 48% are free or freemium (14 free and 106 freemium), while 130 are paid only (52%). A free tool in that set is often a keyword checker, so it will not tell you where ChatGPT placed the brand.

Methodology: these 10 were ranked for a brand or in-house marketer tracking ChatGPT position, against the 252 tools in the SEO tools category. Prices were checked on vendor pages in September 2026, and there is no paid placement.

Agencies with a client roster should use the AI visibility tools for agencies guide. Multi-engine GEO, beyond ChatGPT, is the GEO tools guide. Google rank tracking with AI features is a different job, covered in the AI rank tracking guide.

Peec AI

Top Pick
  • 5.0 on G2 (2 reviews)

Brands that want a daily ChatGPT position, not a blended score.

Peec AI screenshot
+Starter is 50 prompts, 3 models of your choice, daily tracking, unlimited users, and 1 project: one brand, a shared login, and no second brand until you move up. The comparison table shows 4,500 monthly AI answers at that setup, that prompt count times three models times 30 days, so you pay for a month of three-engine coverage rather than a weekly sample.
+Pro is $245 a month for 150 prompts and 2 projects (13,500 answers), the step when one project is no longer the company. Advanced is $495 a month for 350 prompts, 5 projects, multi-country tracking, and Looker Studio (31,500 answers), and it is the first brand tier with multi-country, so a second market is not a Starter toggle.
+The visibility overview reports visibility, position, sentiment, and share of voice, tracked daily against competitors. Position is the average place your brand holds when it appears, a rank a founder can argue with, and ChatGPT has to be selected beside AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini, and Naver or the rank belongs to another assistant.
−Three model slots means ChatGPT is not coverage of every engine. A buyer who also wants Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot leaves the included three and pays the add-on, so Starter is the wrong plan if the brief is every assistant.
−The brand plan offers Get started and does not list a trial length, so you cannot assume a week on your own prompts before you are charged. Enterprise is a sales conversation with daily or weekly tracking and unlimited projects, and a brand that needs every model on day one is not a Starter customer.
Fair value

Peec AI's pricing is on the higher side for businesses just starting with AI search performance tracking.

Watch out

Additional AI models (Gemini, Claude) cost extra on Enterprise.

2
Otterly logo

Otterly

Solo marketers who want ChatGPT included in the base price.

+Lite covers 15 search prompts, tracked daily, with unlimited team members and 1 workspace: a shared login for one brand, not an agency roster. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot are included, so you do not spend a model slot to turn ChatGPT on, and ChatGPT ads tracking is on Lite rather than held back. Annual billing lists Lite at $25, Standard at $160, and Premium at $422.
+Standard is $189 a month for 100 prompts, unlimited workspaces, API and MCP access, and 2,000 API requests a month, the tier where a second brand and a data pull both become possible. Premium is $489 a month for 400 prompts, 10,000 GEO URL audits a month, and 5,000 API requests, a site-audit product as well as a rank log. An extra hundred prompts is a separate monthly charge on Standard and Premium, and that add-on is not sold on Lite.
+The free trial is real, and no day count is published, so treat it as a look rather than a promised length. Lite covers 50+ countries, with 1,000 GEO audits a month and 3 recommendations a week: a pilot with ChatGPT already on, which is the gap Peec leaves to your model picker.
−The entry allowance is a sample, and several products will outgrow it. The next step is Standard, a large jump, so price that jump before you start. Gemini and AI Mode are add-ons at $9 a month on Lite, $59 on Standard, and $149 on Premium. Claude is $109 on Standard and $439 on Premium, worth it only if Claude is in the report you send.
−Lite is one workspace, and unlimited workspaces start on Standard, so a second brand is not a setting on the cheap plan. Recommendations are capped at 3 a week on Lite and become unlimited on Standard, which means the rank you monitor and the advice you export are different products.

SE Ranking

  • 4.7 on G2 (2,710 reviews)

Teams that already track Google rankings and want ChatGPT beside them.

+Core is $129 a month, or $103.20 a month on annual billing, the 20% annual discount the plan shows. It includes 10 projects, 1 manager seat, 2,000 keywords, and 100 prompts tracked daily, so you are buying a Google rank tracker that happens to include ChatGPT. Growth is $279 a month, or $223.20 on annual billing, with 30 projects, 3 manager seats, 5,000 keywords, and 250 prompts tracked daily, the step for several sites rather than one brand.
+The AI Search Toolkit names ChatGPT next to AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, and Gemini, and the ChatGPT tracker shows where the brand ranks, plus mentions, links, and competitors. That tracker is part of this subscription, not a second product with its own price, so do not expect a separate ChatGPT line on the invoice.
+The 14-day trial needs no card and includes 10 projects, 750 keywords a day, and 20 AI prompts a day, long enough to run your own list before you commit. Extra manager seats start at $16. The SEO tools guide covers the rest of the stack, and the SE Ranking profile holds the classic rank tracker.
−You buy keywords with the prompts, so a team that only wants ChatGPT rank still pays for 2,000 keywords on Core. That is the wrong invoice if Google positions are already covered somewhere else.
−The prompt count is one pool, and ChatGPT does not get a quota separate from AI Overviews or Gemini. Splitting the daily pool across five engines thins the ChatGPT sample, so decide the mix before you promise a daily ChatGPT chart.
Good value

SE Ranking's pricing is quite competitive, especially with the 20% annual discount.

Watch out

Add-ons (AI Search, Content, Local) cost extra

4
Rankscale logo

Rankscale

Buyers who will run ChatGPT only and want the credit math to show it.

Rankscale screenshot
+Pro is $99 a month for 1,200 credits, 10 brand dashboards, 50 page audits, and up to 4,800 engine answers, with a trial that does not charge until it ends. Growth is $385 a month for 5,500 credits and 50 dashboards, more brands than a one-brand team needs, and Enterprise is $780 a month for 12,000 credits. Yearly billing is labeled 15% off.
+ChatGPT is 0.25 credits per query, the rate described as typical per engine. A daily list of 50 ChatGPT prompts comes to 375 credits a month, which fits inside the Pro pool, so a ChatGPT-only buyer is not forced onto Growth. The same list on three engines, checked weekly, is the vendor's example at 162.5 credits a month. Plan cards include ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral, Claude, Grok, and Copilot.
+You can schedule from hourly to monthly, so a monthly report can stay on a weekly check. Unused credits on Pro roll over up to 2 times the monthly allocation, and Growth rolls up to 3 times. Ad analytics cover sponsored placements in ChatGPT, AI Mode, and Copilot, and query fanout is on every plan rather than sold as an extra.
−Essentials publishes no credit allowance, so the entry plan is a checkout decision, not a prompt promise. Assuming the Pro credit pool is how a daily ChatGPT run fails in week one.
−White-label dashboard links sit on Growth, with the API. A single brand does not need 50 dashboards, and a shared link still shows Rankscale until that tier. Daily checks on many engines burn credits faster than the ChatGPT-only math above.
Good value

Rankscale's pricing starts at a very low $20/month for Essentials, but this tier offers zero credits, making it effectively a placeholder.

Watch out

Essentials tier has 0 credits, rendering it unusable for actual tracking.

5
Nightwatch logo

Nightwatch

  • 4.7 on G2 (64 reviews)

SEO teams that want ChatGPT answers next to keyword positions.

+Nightwatch prices only in euros. Starter is €79 a month billed yearly (€99 month to month) for 500 keywords, 5 websites, 5 competitors per site, 50 AI prompts, and 1,500 AI answers a month: a rank tracker with a ChatGPT slice attached. Professional is €159 a month billed yearly for 2,500 keywords, 25 websites, 150 prompts, and 4,500 answers. Agency is €399 billed yearly for 7,500 keywords, 100 websites, 500 prompts, and 15,000 answers, and Enterprise is custom.
+ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, and AI Overviews are on every plan, including Starter, so the engine is not a higher-tier surprise. The answer cap is one answer per prompt per day, and higher tiers follow that pattern (150 times 30 is 4,500, and 500 times 30 is 15,000). Sentiment and citation analysis sit beside the rank, not in place of it.
+The trial is 14 days, no card to start, and it bills if you do not cancel. There is no per-seat fee, which means a larger SEO team does not multiply Starter by headcount. White-label reports are not on Starter, and keyword research there is 100 runs a month.
−If each of the six platforms is a separate answer, the Starter prompt pool spread across all of them will not fit inside those 1,500 answers. Confirm that before you promise a client a six-engine daily report on the entry plan.
−Hundreds of keywords come with the AI prompts, which is wasted spend if the only question is ChatGPT. White-label and the larger prompt pools sit on Professional and Agency, so an agency that needs a clean client report is not a Starter customer.
Great value

This makes it an incredibly attractive option for developers and organizations looking for powerful testing capabilities without any financial commitment.

6
Ahrefs logo

Ahrefs

  • 4.5 on G2 (713 reviews)

Brands that already appear in AI answers and want the index.

+The AI Visibility Index starts at $199 a month and maps mentions across 451 million monthly prompts, with 83 prompts a day and 2,500 checks a month included. Overage is $0.020 per check once the included checks run out. Platforms are AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, and Gemini, and Claude is available. ChatGPT is 30.9 million of those prompts and AI Overviews are 312.9 million, so most of what the index calls AI is not ChatGPT.
+Custom prompts ship with paid Ahrefs plans and refresh daily. Lite is 5 prompts, and five prompts on one platform equal 150 checks a month, so a ChatGPT-only list of that length uses the whole Lite allowance. Standard is 10 prompts and 300 checks, and Advanced is 20 prompts and 600 checks. Lite is listed at $129 a month with 1 user, a single login rather than a team seat.
+Additional custom prompts start at $50 a month, and all models are $699 a month, a jump that pays only if every model must run on prompts you wrote. A free preview of AI visibility exists, and custom prompts are included inside a paid plan rather than sold as a separate tracker. Fanout queries are part of that workflow.
−The Lite custom-prompt allowance is a demo of your own questions, not a category tracker. The index answers a different question, and most of its volume is AI Overviews, not ChatGPT, so treating the index as your ChatGPT rank mixes two surfaces.
−Claude consumes 8 checks per update, so adding it shrinks the prompt budget. Lite includes 1 user, with 2 more offered at $40 a month each, and a five-person SEO team is not inside that seat.
Good value

Ahrefs is the industry standard for backlink analysis and a serious contender for keyword research, but it remains one of the most expensive SEO tools on the market.

Watch out

Crawl credits are consumed per page crawled in Site Audit. A 50K-page site burns half of Lite's 100K monthly allocation in a single audit cycle. Standard's 500K credits handle larger sites but enterprise sites with 500K+ pages will need Advanced.

7
Semrush logo

Semrush

  • 4.4 on G2 (4,035 reviews)
  • 4.6 on Capterra (2,326 reviews)

Semrush customers who need a small ChatGPT prompt set.

+The AI Visibility Toolkit is $99 a month, with no trial, so the first month is the test. It includes 25 prompts for Prompt Tracking, 1 domain for Brand Performance, and AI Search checks for up to 100 pages. Prompt tracking is daily and names Google AI Mode and ChatGPT. Brand Performance updates weekly, so do not present it as yesterday's ChatGPT position, and tracking covers 220+ countries.
+Another 50 prompts are $60 a month, the real price of a list that does not fit the toolkit. Another domain is a separate monthly line, and a teammate needs their own toolkit license, so a two-person test is not one login. Semrush One raises the cap without a second product name: Starter is 50 prompts and 5 websites, Pro+ is 100 prompts and 15 websites, and Advanced is 200 prompts and 40 websites.
+The toolkit also includes a visibility score, competitor research, and prompt research with 1,000 daily queries, which is how you find prompts before you spend the tracking slots. CSV export is capped at 10 a day and 1,000 rows.
−That prompt cap is the whole ChatGPT list until you buy the $60 add-on or Semrush One, and a wrong prompt list still costs the month because there is no trial. A brand that is not already paying for Semrush is buying a suite to get a small prompt cap.
−The visibility score benchmarks you against competitors Semrush picks, across AI answers, and it is not a ChatGPT position for a prompt you wrote. Prompt tracking is the rank and the score is the sample, and mixing them produces a number you cannot explain when a founder asks which answer moved.
Good value

Semrush is the most comprehensive all-in-one SEO and digital marketing platform, and its pricing reflects the breadth.

Watch out

Keyword tracking limits are per DAY, not per month: Pro gets 500 keywords total in Position Tracking, not 500 new keywords per month. Once you've added 500 keywords, you must remove old ones to add new

AthenaHQ logo

AthenaHQ

Teams that want to try ChatGPT tracking before a paid plan.

AthenaHQ screenshot
+Essential is free and includes 300 credits, with ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini, and Copilot, enough to see whether a short list returns your name. Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits, and 1 credit equals 1 AI response, so the pool is answers, not prompts times models. Starter adds AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI, and Mistral, and visibility is listed across 11 models, which is how a modest prompt list empties the month.
+Seats are unlimited, with role-based access, so the bill does not grow because finance wants a login, and topics are unlimited. Google Analytics and Search Console are on the integration list, which ties a ChatGPT mention to a visit. CSV export is on Starter. On-page and off-page actions, plus a content optimization agent, sit on the paid plan, so the free tier shows the rank and does not fix the page.
+Spreading the free credits across five engines makes the daily history thin, and it is still a real ChatGPT check with no card. That is rarer on this list than another $30 entry plan.
−API access and extra credits are paid add-ons, priced by contacting AthenaHQ, so a reporting pipeline is not inside the paid tier. Enterprise is custom, which is where SSO, the citation engine, and multi-region support are listed.
−A credit is a response, so the paid pool counts answers, not prompts repeated across every model. Running 11 models on one prompt spends 11 credits, and a ChatGPT-only setup is what preserves the pool.
Good value

However, the monthly self-serve at $295 feels expensive given the annual discount.

9
Scrunch logo

Scrunch

  • 4.6 on G2 (71 reviews)

A single brand that wants four models and a real prompt list.

Scrunch screenshot
+Core is $250 a month for 125 unique prompts, 5 site audits a month, 1 brand workspace, and 5 user licenses. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Copilot are the four models, so ChatGPT is in the price and Claude is not. One country, one persona, one language, and 5 competitors are the caps, which fits one market and blocks a second country. Citations, sentiment, and a reporting dashboard are included.
+Page optimizations are 1 a month on Core, with basic content generation, and AI bot traffic is included. That is a monitor plus a small fix queue, more than a prompt log and less than a content team, and it will frustrate anyone who expected a rewrite engine.
+Enterprise adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode, and Grok, for 9 models, plus custom prompt volume, more workspaces, the Agent Experience Platform, and API access. Google SSO is on Core, and SAML and OIDC SSO are Enterprise, the split if IT will not accept a Google login for the rank data.
−One workspace means a second brand is Enterprise, not a seat, and five user licenses is the team cap, so a sixth person is not a setting. Two product lines will hit the workspace wall before they run out of prompts.
−Claude and Gemini are not on the entry plan. A ChatGPT rank is covered, and a claim that Core tracks every major assistant is not. No trial is listed, so the first month is the proof.
Fair value

Scrunch's pricing is on the higher end, with the 'Core' plan at $250/month.

10
Profound logo

Profound

Teams that can take a custom contract after a short trial.

Profound screenshot
+The trial is free: 50 unique prompts, daily, for 7 days, across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. Trial and Enterprise both include unlimited seats, so the quote is not a per-login tax. Enterprise tracks up to 9 answer engines, with SSO and SOC 2 on the plan, and daily tracking continues after the trial.
+Profound's FAQ says it tracks citations, sentiment, ranking, and competitive presence. Ranking is why it belongs on a ChatGPT rank list even without a sticker price, and ChatGPT Shopping is on the plan comparison if the brand sells inside ChatGPT rather than only in the answer text.
+Agency Growth, the one paid allowance on the page, is 400 agent credits a month per client workspace. That is an agent budget, not a prompt pack, so a brand buyer who puts it on a rank-tracking rate card will brief the wrong product.
−There is no self-serve paid plan. When the trial ends, the next step is Enterprise and a quote. Trial users get a recommended prompt set they cannot edit, so the trial rank is Profound's list, not yours.
−The public offer does not say which Enterprise engines sit beyond the trial's three, even though Enterprise lists up to nine. Buying Profound for ChatGPT only, without a written engine list and a dollar, turns a one-engine question into an annual contract.

What a ChatGPT rank tracker is

A ChatGPT rank tracker records where a brand is mentioned, cited, or ordered inside ChatGPT's answers for a set of prompts, then repeats that check so the position can move over time.

Position is the rank you can defend in a meeting. Peec defines it as the average place your brand holds when it appears in the answer, so a first mention outranks a fifth mention. A mention with no order, or a citation of your URL with no brand name, is a different fact, and reporting only that fact will overstate how ChatGPT ranks you.

The meter is not standardized, which is why two ChatGPT invoices can describe different products. Otterly counts search prompts, Rankscale spends a fraction of a credit per engine call, and Ahrefs counts checks, so a short list on one platform can consume the month. Buy the unit that matches a ChatGPT-only question, or you will pay for engines the report never uses.

Why a Google rank tracker will not show ChatGPT

Classic rank tracking stores a Google position for a keyword. ChatGPT does not publish that position, so the closest numbers are where your brand is named inside an answer you chose, how often that happens, and which URL was cited. Those three numbers diverge: a brand can be mentioned first and never linked, or linked as a source and never named, and a report that picks only one of them will mislead the person who asked for rank.

The index is not your rank. Ahrefs' AI Visibility Index covers 451 million monthly prompts, ChatGPT is 30.9 million of them, and AI Overviews are 312.9 million. A strong index score can be an AI Overviews result wearing an AI label, so a brand that looks present in "AI" can still be missing from ChatGPT. Custom prompts, the list you write, are the ChatGPT rank. The AEO and GEO tools guide is the wider stack, and this page is the ChatGPT cut.

If the team already pays for Ahrefs or Semrush, read Ahrefs vs Semrush before adding a second login. The included prompt caps on both suites are small. A dedicated tracker can be the cheaper way to run a real ChatGPT prompt list once that list outgrows the suite.

Key Features to Look For

  • ChatGPT in the entry price (Essential)

Otterly's published plans include ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot, so the sticker already answers a ChatGPT question, while Gemini, AI Mode, and Claude cost extra. Peec makes you choose 3 models, so ChatGPT is tracked only if you select it. Nightwatch lists ChatGPT on every plan, including Starter, beside Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, and AI Overviews.

  • Position, not a blended score (Essential)

Peec's visibility overview tracks visibility, position, sentiment, and share of voice daily against competitors, so the report can name a rank. SE Ranking's ChatGPT tracker says it shows where the brand ranks in ChatGPT answers, the same job inside a suite you may already pay for. An index across a huge prompt sample answers a market question, not the prompt list your category uses.

  • Prompt allowance at the price you will pay (Essential)

Write the prompt list before you compare stickers. A short entry allowance can sample one category and cannot cover a catalog, a second country, and competitors together, which is why a long ChatGPT list outgrows the suite toolkits here and lands on a dedicated tracker.

  • What one check costs (Essential)

Rankscale spends a fraction of a credit per engine query, so ChatGPT alone is cheaper than ChatGPT plus other models, and three engines are not one unit. Ahrefs bills checks, and a short list on one platform can use the month, with Claude drawing more checks per update. Nightwatch's answer cap works out to one answer per prompt per day, so a six-engine run costs more than a ChatGPT-only run.

  • Seats and projects (Important)

Several entry plans include unlimited users and a single project or workspace, so the team can share a login and still cannot track a second brand. Scrunch also caps licenses, and Ahrefs' entry plan is a single seat, which means a five-person SEO team is a seat purchase.

  • A trial that uses your prompts (Important)

A trial only helps if it runs prompts you will report. Profound locks a recommended set you cannot edit, so the screenshot is Profound's category, not yours. SE Ranking's trial includes a daily AI prompt allowance and does not ask for a card. Semrush's toolkit has no trial, so the first invoice is the test.

What to weigh before you pay

  1. Write the ChatGPT prompt list first, then match a plan's allowance. A tool that looks cheap on a short list becomes the expensive one once the list has to cover the catalog.

  2. Check whether ChatGPT is included, a model you must select, or an engine that spends credits. The sticker price is not the ChatGPT price until you know which.

  3. Prefer a position on your prompts over an index score. Use the index when the question is a broad sample, not a prompt you wrote.

  4. If Google rankings are already in the retainer, a suite with a ChatGPT tracker beats a second pure-play login. If they are not, do not buy a large keyword bundle to get a short AI prompt list.

Evaluation Checklist

  • Confirm ChatGPT is on the tier you will buy, as an included engine, a selected model, or a credit you choose to spend.

  • Run your own prompts in the trial. A locked recommended set measures the vendor's category, not the one you will report.

  • Ask what one ChatGPT check costs in prompts, credits, or answers, and multiply by a month of runs before you sign.

  • Separate position on your prompts from an index score, and write down which number will go in the monthly report.

  • Check the project cap. One workspace cannot hold a second brand, however many seats the plan includes.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • ×

Tracking a short prompt list and concluding ChatGPT never mentions the brand, when the list missed the prompts buyers actually type.

  • ×

Reading Ahrefs' index as a ChatGPT rank. AI Overviews are 312.9 million of its monthly prompts, and ChatGPT is 30.9 million, inside a 451 million prompt sample, so the headline can move while ChatGPT does not.

  • ×

Selecting three models on Peec and leaving ChatGPT out, then reporting a Gemini position as a ChatGPT rank.

  • ×

Buying Semrush's toolkit when the team is not already in Semrush, and paying suite prices for a short prompt list.

  • ×

Putting Profound's trial screenshot in a board deck, when those prompts were recommended and could not be edited.

Expert Tips

  • →

Price a ChatGPT-only month before you add engines. On Rankscale that is 0.25 credits a query. On AthenaHQ it is 1 credit a response. On Ahrefs, five prompts on one platform are 150 checks, which can be the whole entry allowance.

  • →

Keep branded prompts and unbranded prompts in separate counts. A rank on your own name is not a rank on the category question, and mixing them hides a brand that only appears when the shopper already knows it.

  • →

Match the check to the meeting. Weekly is enough for a monthly report, and daily across every engine is how Nightwatch's answer cap and Rankscale's credits disappear.

  • →

If Google rankings are the retainer, start with SE Ranking or Nightwatch and use the SEO tools guide. If the question is only ChatGPT, start with Peec or Otterly and skip the keyword bundle.

  • →

Write the engine list into the scope in the same words as the pricing page. An AI-search slide and a four-engine invoice plus add-ons are how a ChatGPT project overruns.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • !

A plan that bundles thousands of Google keywords when the only brief is ChatGPT rank, because you will pay for a product you already own.

  • !

An AI visibility score with no per-engine split, sold as a ChatGPT position you cannot reproduce from a prompt.

  • !

ChatGPT listed in a sales deck and priced as an add-on, or as one of three model slots you already spent on other engines.

  • !

A credit, a prompt, and an answer treated as the same unit, which produces three different invoices for one question.

  • !

A trial whose prompts you cannot edit, presented as proof that your category ranks where the screenshot says.

The Bottom Line

Buy Peec Starter when the report needs a ChatGPT position on prompts you chose, and you can live with three model slots. Buy Otterly's entry plan when a short daily list is enough and you want ChatGPT included without a picker.

Use SE Ranking or Nightwatch when Google keywords share the invoice. Use Rankscale when the credit math should drop if you query ChatGPT alone. Keep Ahrefs and Semrush for teams that already pay them, and keep the prompt caps honest.

Scrunch's entry plan is one workspace, which fits a single brand and blocks a second. AthenaHQ is the free way to see a first ChatGPT response. Profound is a trial and then a quote. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best ChatGPT rank tracker in 2026?

Peec AI is the best default in 2026 when you need your brand's position in ChatGPT. Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts, tracked daily, and you choose 3 models, so skip it if nobody will confirm ChatGPT was selected. Otterly Lite, at $29 a month for 15 prompts, fits when ChatGPT must be included without a model slot, and it is the wrong buy once the list covers a catalog. SE Ranking Core, at $129 a month, fits when 100 daily prompts should sit beside Google keywords you do not already track elsewhere.

How much does a ChatGPT rank tracker cost?

Verified in September 2026, self-serve runs from Rankscale Essentials at $20 a month and Otterly Lite through Nightwatch Starter (€79 a month billed yearly, euros only) and Peec Starter, up to Ahrefs' AI Visibility Index at $199 a month. Scrunch Core is $250 a month for 125 prompts. AthenaHQ Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 responses, which you spend faster with every assistant switched on. Profound publishes no paid price. Annual SE Ranking Core is $103.20 a month if the contract will last a year.

Is there a free ChatGPT rank tracker?

AthenaHQ Essential is free and includes 300 credits, with ChatGPT among the engines, enough to see if a short list returns your name before a card is charged. Ahrefs offers a free AI visibility preview, and custom prompts come with a paid plan rather than a permanent free tracker. Profound's trial uses a fixed prompt set you cannot edit, so it tests Profound's category, not yours. Otterly, SE Ranking, and Nightwatch offer trials, and Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit does not. A free keyword tool in our SEO category is not a ChatGPT rank tracker.

Peec AI vs Otterly: which tracks ChatGPT rank better?

Peec is the better rank if you need position, sentiment, and share of voice and you will select ChatGPT as one of three models. Otterly is the better start when ChatGPT is included on the entry plan and a short list covers the first month. Otterly's next step is a much larger bill, which is when a solo marketer should have bought Peec. Peec's next step, Pro at $245 a month, is 150 prompts and 2 projects, so the upgrade buys a second project, not only a longer list.

Can Semrush or Ahrefs replace a dedicated ChatGPT rank tracker?

They cover a slice, and that slice is smaller than a dedicated tracker once the prompt list is real. Semrush's toolkit is 25 prompts, includes ChatGPT in prompt tracking, and has no trial, so the first month is the test. Ahrefs Lite includes 5 custom prompts, and the AI Visibility Index is a 451 million prompt sample, with ChatGPT at 30.9 million of those prompts, so most of the sample is not ChatGPT. All-models custom prompts are $699 a month. A dedicated plan is the better buy once the list outgrows those caps. Compare the suites on Ahrefs vs Semrush.

What should the contract say about ChatGPT rank?

Name ChatGPT, the prompt count, the check frequency, and whether position is the metric, or the vendor can satisfy the contract with a score you cannot explain. Refuse a blended AI score in place of a ChatGPT position, and refuse a one-workspace plan if you have two brands, which is the trap on Scrunch's entry plan and Otterly's entry plan. Refuse Profound as a line item until someone has seen a dollar, because the public offer is a trial and a custom Enterprise plan, and a one-engine question can become an annual contract.
