QuickBooks is Intuit's accounting system for small and mid sized businesses: invoicing, bills, banking feeds, expense coding and the reports an accountant uses to close a period. An MCP server over it gives an agent structured access to the company file itself rather than to exported spreadsheets that go stale the moment they are downloaded. The exposed records track the accounting model: customers and vendors with their linked transaction history, invoices and their payment status, bills and bill payments, sales receipts and credit memos, products and services items, the chart of accounts, journal entries, and standard financial reports such as profit and loss, balance sheet and receivable aging. Access runs through Intuit's OAuth flow against one company at a time, and sandbox companies exist for development. Bookkeepers, finance teams and the software builders serving them are the audience. Useful patterns include asking which invoices are overdue and by how much, reconciling a vendor's bills against payments made, drafting a period summary from the report data, or spotting transactions coded to an implausible account. Since writes land in the ledger, treat create and update operations as needing human approval and test them against a sandbox company first.
