About Vanta MCP
Vanta's MCP server exposes a compliance program to an agent as structured data rather than a dashboard. Read tools cover failing tests and the entities that are out of scope, controls with their framework mappings and linked evidence, policy documents, vendors with their security assessments and risk attributes, vulnerable assets with remediation status, and framework requirements alongside the gaps still open against them. The write side is what makes it useful inside a coding assistant. An agent can take a failing test, work out what the underlying infrastructure needs to change, generate the fix as infrastructure as code and open a pull request in the repository that owns it. It can also upload policy documents and update vendor risk attributes, the manual tasks that otherwise accumulate ahead of an audit. Vanta additionally ships commands for coding agents that list prioritized failing tests relevant to a codebase and drive the remediation flow. The audience is security and GRC teams, plus the engineers who receive the remediation tickets. Typical uses include triaging which failing tests block a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit, checking whether a control has evidence attached to it, and closing infrastructure findings in the same session where the code already lives.
