About WX

WX is a generative virtual synthesizer designed for Windows that starts each session from a random seed, encouraging quick accidents and slow, evolving tones. Instead of a blank patch, it begins with small generative decisions, allowing the sound to drift, mutate, and surprise while keeping the user in control. The compact interface focuses on sound design, with a radar screen that double-clicks to reshuffle the entire synthesis engine, oscillator shape, filter tuning, envelope curve, effects balance, and drift behavior, all from a single generative algorithm. Built for musicians, sound designers, and producers seeking unpredictable yet controllable textures, WX features an 8-voice polyphonic architecture with legato mode, dual DPW oscillators (Saw, Sine, Random additive wavetable, Pulse), a 512-sample procedural wavetable generator, and a per-voice analog drift simulation (ReplicantDrift™). The State Variable TPT filter offers Low Pass, High Pass, and Band Pass modes, while effects include stereo delay, algorithmic reverb, chorus, bit-crusher/decimator, and syncable stereo autopan. WX is available as a VST3 plugin and standalone application for Windows 10/11 (64-bit), with macOS support in development.
