What is Razorpay MCP?

Editorial review
Razorpay is a payments platform used widely by businesses collecting money in India, and its MCP server exposes a merchant account to an AI client over the Model Context Protocol. The workload it targets is support and finance operations rather than checkout itself: working out why a payment failed, issuing a refund, or generating a link to collect money, without opening the dashboard to do it. The server covers the core payment objects. An agent fetches payments and their status, captures authorized payments, creates and reads orders, issues full or partial refunds and checks refund status, and creates payment links and QR codes to send to a customer. Settlement records are readable, so finance can reconcile what landed in the bank against what was captured, and payment records carry method, error codes, and notes, which is what turns a vague customer complaint into a specific diagnosis. It is built for support teams fielding payment questions and finance teams doing reconciliation, plus developers who want to inspect flows conversationally while building. Because refunds and captures move real money, the usual approach is read-only keys until a workflow is proven, then write access granted narrowly to the actions a team intends to automate.
