Best AI Visibility Tools for Ecommerce in 2026

TL;DR

Short answer: Peec AI is the AI visibility tool to start with for an online store in 2026. Its AI Shopping view imports a catalog from Shopify, CSV, or a Google Merchant Center feed and reports visibility, win rate, and position per product, on plans from $95 a month. Otterly tracks ChatGPT Shopping Cards on every plan from $29. Profound, Writesonic, and Semrush's Enterprise AIO go deeper on merchants and attributes under custom contracts.

10 tools compared on product-level tracking, shopping surfaces, and price, with prices checked on vendor pages in October 2026.

252 SEO Tools tools tracked

An online store needs two answers from an AI visibility tool: which of its products ChatGPT puts in the shopping shortlist, and which merchant gets the checkout. Peec AI answers the first at the SKU level from $95 a month, and it imports your catalog from Shopify, a CSV, or a Google Merchant Center feed. Toolradar data: 48% of the 252 SEO tools we track have a free or freemium plan, yet the cheapest shopping view in this guide starts at $29 a month.

Shopping surfaces are not equal. Peec says its AI Shopping view is based on ChatGPT today, where the product carousel is most advanced, and Profound, Evertune, and Otterly are ChatGPT-first as well. Rankscale also lists Google AI Mode and Copilot shopping visibility. Coverage beyond ChatGPT is thin, so ask every vendor which shopping surfaces it actually captures before you compare prices.

Methodology: these 10 were ranked for an ecommerce marketing lead or DTC brand that wants to measure how its products and merchants appear in AI shopping answers, against the 252 tools in the SEO tools category. Ranking weighs product-level tracking, catalog import, merchant and retailer data, the shopping surfaces covered, and price. Prices were checked on vendor pages in October 2026. No paid placement.

This guide measures visibility. For on-site search, recommendations, and repricing, read the AI shopping optimization tools guide. Brand-level tracking is in the GEO tools guide and the AEO and GEO tools guide, and the multi-client view is in the AI visibility tools for agencies guide.

Peec AI logo

Peec AI

Top Pick
  • 5.0 on G2 (2 reviews)

DTC brands that sell their own products and can import a catalog from Shopify, CSV, or Merchant Center.

Peec AI screenshot
+A catalog loads three ways: a Shopify storefront (Peec reads products.json), a Peec CSV with title and brand required, or a Google Merchant Center feed in CSV, TSV, or JSON. After upload, Peec matches products against the previous 30 days of chats, so history appears at once. AI Shopping also works without a catalog by showing products detected in tracked chats.
+The product table reports visibility, win rate, position, appearances, catalog price against mentioned price, competing products, top shopping queries, top fan-out queries, and the attributes ChatGPT compares. The shopping queries are the Google Shopping searches ChatGPT runs, which Peec says overlap heavily with Google Shopping search. See the Peec AI profile.
+Prompts stay manageable. Every product is matched to the category prompts it belongs to, so a prompt like 'best moisturizers for dry skin' measures all your moisturizers, and Peec advises keeping branded prompts to about 15 to 20% of the set. Starter is $95 a month (50 prompts, 3 models), Pro is $245, and Advanced is $495.
−AI Shopping is based on ChatGPT today, and Peec's docs say other models may follow. The pricing table lists catalog upload, SKU-level tracking, and top merchants as features but does not name the plan that carries them, so confirm the tier in the trial.
−The shopping guide is written for brands that sell their own products. Peec says multi-brand retailers and marketplaces need a different approach and are not covered.
Fair value

Peec AI's pricing is on the higher side for businesses just starting with AI search performance tracking.

Watch out

Additional AI models (Gemini, Claude) cost extra on Enterprise.

2
Profound logo

Profound

Large catalogs and multi-retailer brands that need shopping data inside an enterprise contract.

Profound screenshot
+Profound tracks Shopping Visibility, Attribute Accuracy, Shopper Sentiment, and SKU-level analysis with related citations and keywords. Shopping Mode Rate shows how often queries in your category trigger ChatGPT's shopping interface instead of a text answer, which tells you whether the category is worth a feed investment.
+The Merchant Layer shows which third-party retailers and direct stores own the checkout options when your products appear, and breaks brand share down by merchant. That is the clearest view of whether a competitor's retailer is taking the sale.
+It also lists actions: fix product feed fields and structured markup, direct catalog updates to the retail partners driving the best placement, and use competitor-only query lists to brief new pages. The Profound profile covers the platform.
−ChatGPT Shopping is on the Enterprise plan only, and the free 7-day trial excludes it. No paid price is published, so you cannot compare it with a $95 plan without a sales call.
−The shopping view is built around ChatGPT, so Perplexity and Google AI Mode product results are not part of this module.
3
Otterly logo

Otterly

Small stores that want to watch which products, prices, and retailers ChatGPT surfaces for a few categories.

+Otterly records the paid units in each answer: advertiser, destination link, ad copy, and the product details behind each Shopping Card, including which products, prices, and retailers are surfaced to buyers. Tracking runs by default in all brand reports on every plan, with no setup for existing accounts.
+Lite is $29 a month ($25 billed annually) for 15 prompts, Standard is $189 ($160) for 100 prompts with a Looker Studio connector, and Premium is $489 ($422) for 400. Included engines are ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot. The Otterly profile has more.
+Lite includes 1,000 GEO URL audits a month, enough to grade every product page on a small catalog for crawlability and answer readiness, and every plan includes link citation analysis.
−The page describes optional Ads and Shopping columns in the brand report rather than a catalog import, so it shows what ChatGPT surfaces for your prompts, not how each of your SKUs ranks.
−Fifteen prompts on Lite covers a handful of categories. Another 100 prompts cost $99 a month on Standard and Premium, and Claude, Gemini, and AI Mode are add-ons.
4
Writesonic logo

Writesonic

  • 4.7 on G2 (2,134 reviews)
  • 4.8 on Capterra (2,102 reviews)

DTC brands worried that AI sends buyers to Amazon or Walmart instead of their own store.

+Four metrics define the tracker: Shopping Visibility, Direct Purchase Link Share (the share of cards linking to your site rather than Amazon, Walmart, or other retailers), Shopping Share of Voice, and Shopping Rank. Writesonic says every metric updates daily and can be filtered by market, topic, product, prompt type, or date.
+The All Products view works at SKU level with product-level visibility, merchant mapping (for example, Amazon 45% and your site 30%), detected aliases (AI rarely uses your exact product name), and brand attribution. A competitors tab benchmarks brands, products, and shopping topics, with export for client or executive reporting.
+Brand-level AI tracking starts at Starter ($79 a month billed annually, 50 prompts), then Basic ($199) and Growth ($399). The Writesonic profile covers the content tools.
−Shopping and Agentic Commerce appears on the Enterprise card, so it is a custom, demo-led purchase. The self-serve plans track ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews and do not list the shopping tracker.
−The self-serve prices listed are annual-billing rates, and Starter is capped at 1 user and 1 project, which is tight for a multi-brand store group.
Good value

Best for small teams or individual marketers who can commit to the Standard tier.

Watch out

No overage billing; must upgrade tier for more credits

Brands that sell through several retailers and want pricing and retailer data per product.

+Shopping Intelligence tracks Shopping Trigger Rate (how often a category prompt produces product cards), Shopping Visibility, Product Performance (visibility, price, review ratings, and the topics behind each recommendation), Retailer Analysis, and Competitive Pricing with price ranges and medians as AI displays them.
+Evertune asks each prompt 100 times per model, and in its July 2026 analysis of 10,000 responses the margin of error fell from 31 points to 2 at topic level. That matters for product-level numbers, which rest on fewer answers than brand-level ones. The Evertune profile has details.
+Pro is listed at $800 a month for 100,000 prompts across 11 AI models with daily, weekly, or monthly tracking and 25 AI-optimized articles a month. Enterprise adds AI bot analytics and a dedicated success manager.
−The pricing page does not name the plan that includes Shopping Intelligence, and Shopping Intelligence is described for ChatGPT. Onboarding is demo-led.
−At $800 a month the entry price is the highest in this guide apart from custom contracts, which is hard to justify for a catalog of under a hundred SKUs.
Weak value

Without more information, it's hard to justify this cost against potential ROI.

6
Rankscale logo

Rankscale

Brands that want shopping coverage beyond ChatGPT at a published price.

Rankscale screenshot
+Rankscale's Shopping and Ads feature shows shopping items and paid placements in AI answers, compares merchant reach, buybox wins, and coverage over time, and tracks shopping visibility on ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Copilot. That is the widest surface list among the tools with a published price.
+Pro is $99 a month for 1,200 credits, 10 brand dashboards, 50 page audits, and up to 4,800 answers, with a 7-day free trial. Growth is $385 with 50 dashboards and white-label links. Annual billing is 15% cheaper. See the Rankscale profile.
+Page Audits score pages against 200-plus factors including AI bot crawlability, and Query Fanouts shows the internal searches engines run before answering, which helps with product-page wording.
−The pricing page does not say which plan unlocks Shopping and Ads, and a catalog import is not described, so confirm product-level matching in the trial.
−Credits are spent per engine query, so tracking shopping prompts daily on three surfaces uses the 1,200 credits quickly.
Good value

The real value begins with the Pro tier at $99/month, which provides a good balance of features for small to medium businesses.

Watch out

Essentials tier has 0 credits, rendering it unusable for actual tracking.

Teams that already want Promptwatch's tracking and are ready for its top self-serve tier.

+Business is $579 a month for 350 prompts, 42,000 responses, 5 projects, state and city-level tracking, Shopping Insights, Ads Radar, and audit logs. Promptwatch describes its shopping data as seeing when ChatGPT is recommending your brand. The Promptwatch profile has the product detail.
+Promptwatch lists AI crawler logs and Agent Analytics, which show when AI crawlers and citation agents read your pages. For a store, that is a check on whether product pages are being fetched at all.
+Essential is $95 and Professional is $245, each with a 7-day free trial, so you can test the tracking before committing to Business.
−Shopping Insights is not on Essential or Professional, and Business is booked through a demo. The cheapest route to shopping data here is $579 a month.
−Each plan tracks 4 models, and the page describes Shopping Insights in one line, so ask for a walkthrough of product-level data before you buy.
Fair value

This pricing is best suited for businesses with a dedicated budget for AI search visibility and content generation.

Watch out

Potential for annual-only discounts not shown

8
Scrunch logo

Scrunch

  • 4.6 on G2 (71 reviews)

Brands that want product-level data and an agent-facing site layer, and can move to Enterprise.

Scrunch screenshot
+Scrunch's Shopping page shows which products AI recommends, how many, where they rank, and how that trends. A competitive landscape compares your products with rivals', and a retailer landscape shows which retailers capture AI-driven clicks. The Scrunch profile has the rest.
+Shopping Prompts shows which prompts serve your products and what the answers look like, so you can see where to act first. Scrunch's customer example reports a 364% increase in brand presence for non-branded prompts, a vendor-published result.
+Enterprise adds AXP, the Agent Experience Platform, which delivers an optimized experience to AI agents, with product observability and API access. The entry plan starts at $250 a month with a 7-day free trial.
−The plan comparison lists Product Observability under Enterprise, so the $250 entry plan monitors brand prompts rather than SKUs. Enterprise pricing is custom.
−The entry plan layout has changed between versions of the pricing page, so confirm prompt limits and the billing period before you buy.
Fair value

Scrunch's pricing is on the higher end, with the 'Core' plan at $250/month.

9
Semrush logo

Semrush

  • 4.4 on G2 (4,035 reviews)
  • 4.6 on Capterra (2,326 reviews)

Large retailers already on Semrush or Adobe that need shopping results next to SEO data.

+Semrush's Enterprise AIO page lists tracking of products, pricing, and performance in shopping results, with drill-down by brands, markets, cities, and products. It cites a prompt database of 213 million relevant LLM prompts and supports GA4 or Adobe Analytics traffic data. The Semrush profile covers the suite.
+The $99 AI Visibility Toolkit is the entry point: 25 tracked prompts and 1 domain for Brand Performance. Semrush's ecommerce page says it shows how often ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini recommend your brand for product comparisons and buying advice.
+Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on April 28, 2026, and Adobe says AI traffic to U.S. retail sites rose 269% year over year in March 2026. A retailer on Adobe Commerce may find the combined stack convenient.
−Shopping tracking is on the demo-led Enterprise AIO product with no published price, and the self-serve toolkit does not list product-level views.
−The toolkit refreshes Brand Performance weekly and charges $99 per extra user and per extra domain, which adds up for a multi-brand store group.
Good value

Semrush is the most comprehensive all-in-one SEO and digital marketing platform, and its pricing reflects the breadth.

Watch out

Keyword tracking limits are per DAY, not per month: Pro gets 500 keywords total in Position Tracking, not 500 new keywords per month. Once you've added 500 keywords, you must remove old ones to add new

10
AthenaHQ logo

AthenaHQ

Shopify brands that want content actions and revenue attribution more than a product dashboard.

AthenaHQ screenshot
+AthenaHQ's Action Center lists Commerce Optimization, which improves product content for AI recommendations, beside content creation and citation outreach. Its FAQ advises clean, structured product data with accurate pricing, product schema, and verified reviews for ChatGPT Shopping.
+The Shopify integration lets you publish AEO-optimized content and attribute revenue to AI search discovery, and GA4 and Google Search Console connect visibility to traffic and conversions. The AthenaHQ profile has the platform detail.
+Essential is free with a $25 credit (300 credits), and Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits across 11 models with unlimited seats.
−The page does not describe a product-level visibility dashboard like Peec's or Profound's, so it is a content and attribution tool for commerce rather than a SKU tracker.
−One credit is one AI response, so 3,600 credits across 11 models is about 327 responses per model a month, and API access is a paid add-on.
Good value

However, the monthly self-serve at $295 feels expensive given the annual discount.

What ecommerce AI visibility measures

Ecommerce AI visibility is measured at the product and merchant level, not only the brand. When a buyer asks ChatGPT for a product, it can return a shortlist of product cards with prices, reviews, and purchase links. Peec's docs describe a shortlist, and Evertune puts it at three to five products with a clear path to buy. Brand tracking counts text mentions. Shopping tracking records the cards: which products appear, in what position, at what price, and from which retailer.

The feed is the other half. OpenAI's product feed specification lists nine required fields: item_id, title, description, url, brand, seller_name, image_url, availability, and price. OpenAI says required fields ensure correct display of price and availability, while recommended attributes such as rich media, reviews, and performance signals improve ranking, relevance, and user trust. It also says to use the format only after OpenAI confirms it for your registered feed, and that checkout needs a separately enabled integration.

Perplexity runs its own Merchant Program for sharing product details. Google's Merchant Center feed matters too, since Peec accepts that feed format as a catalog source.

Why product pages, merchants, and prices decide the sale

Traffic is arriving. Adobe data shows AI traffic to U.S. retail sites rose 269% year over year in March 2026, a figure Adobe published when it completed its acquisition of Semrush. A product missing from the shortlist does not get that click.

Retrieval is moving toward first-party product pages. An August 2026 analysis by David Konitzny, summarized in Peec's docs, found that under GPT-5.6, product pages were 16.39% of the pages ChatGPT retrieved, up 119% in daily retrievals, while listicles fell from 15.47% to 8.19%. In almost every case the retrieved domain was the brand or manufacturer itself.

The index is changing underneath you. Peec reported in September 2026 that at least five live ChatGPT Shopping experiments were running, including tests of OpenAI's own product index against scraped search results. One experiment's ranking stack blended BM25, a reranker over 400 candidates, and vector search. Measure continuously, because the ranking stack is not stable.

Who gets the checkout matters as much as who gets the card. Writesonic tracks direct purchase link share (your site against Amazon or Walmart), Profound reports a merchant layer, and Scrunch shows retailer share. The price AI quotes can be wrong. Peec compares your catalog price with the price the AI mentions, so you can see when assistants quote you higher or lower than you charge.

Key Features to Look For

  • Product-level tracking (Essential)

Peec reports visibility, win rate (the share of chats where the product is the first recommendation), position, and appearances per product. Profound and Writesonic offer SKU-level views. A brand-level tracker tells you ChatGPT mentions your store, not whether the hero product made the shortlist.

  • Catalog import and matching (Essential)

Peec imports from a Shopify storefront (it reads the public products.json feed), a Peec CSV (title and brand are required), or a Google Merchant Center feed in CSV, TSV, or JSON. After upload it matches products against the previous 30 days of chats. Without an import, the tool can only show products it happens to detect.

  • Merchant and retailer share (Essential)

Profound's Merchant Layer, Writesonic's direct purchase link share and merchant mapping, Rankscale's merchant reach and buybox wins, Scrunch's retailer share, and Evertune's retailer analysis all answer the same question: who gets the click. For a brand that sells through retailers, this is the main number.

  • Shopping trigger and query data (Important)

Profound's Shopping Mode Rate and Evertune's Shopping Trigger Rate show how often a category prompt produces product cards at all. Peec lists the Google Shopping searches ChatGPT runs to build the carousel, and says they overlap heavily with Google Shopping search, which makes them feed targets.

  • Price and attribute accuracy (Important)

Peec's mentioned price against catalog price, Profound's attribute accuracy, and Evertune's competitive pricing view show whether AI describes your product correctly. Peec also captures the attributes ChatGPT uses to compare products, which tells you what your product pages should state.

  • Shopping surfaces covered (Important)

Peec, Profound, Evertune, and Otterly describe ChatGPT. Rankscale lists ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Copilot. Ask each vendor which surfaces it captures today and which are on the roadmap, since a ChatGPT-only view misses a large share of shoppers.

  • Feed and page readiness (Nice to have)

Profound lists product feed and structured data fixes as actions. Rankscale audits pages against 200-plus factors, and Otterly includes 1,000 URL audits a month on Lite. Feed managers such as GoDataFeed (ChatGPT and Perplexity feed pages) and Productsup (AI channels) are separate purchases that fix the data itself.

What to weigh before you buy

  1. Ask which plan carries shopping. Profound's trial excludes it, Writesonic lists it on Enterprise, Promptwatch puts Shopping Insights on Business, and Scrunch lists Product Observability under Enterprise.

  2. Match your catalog to the import path: Shopify storefront, Peec CSV, or a Merchant Center feed. A catalog in a spreadsheet is a one-off upload, and one on Shopify can be fetched directly.

  3. Confirm the shopping surfaces. ChatGPT is the common denominator, and only Rankscale lists Google AI Mode and Copilot in its shopping view.

  4. Decide how you sell. Peec's shopping prompt guide is written for brands that sell their own products, and it says multi-brand retailers and marketplaces need a different approach.

  5. Budget for the feed side separately. Feed managers are priced apart from tracking, and visibility cannot rise if the feed fields are missing.

Evaluation Checklist

  • Import ten hero SKUs and confirm the tool matches each to the right prompts and categories.

  • Run five category prompts by hand in ChatGPT and compare the product cards with what the tool recorded.

  • Compare mentioned price with catalog price on your top 20 products and note any quoted from a retailer.

  • Ask which plan carries shopping and which shopping surfaces are captured today.

  • Check whether the tool shows which merchant gets the checkout link, not only whether your product appears.

  • Re-run the same prompts weekly for a month, because shopping results change when OpenAI tests its index.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • ×

Buying a brand tracker and expecting SKU-level results. Brand tracking counts mentions and does not match products.

  • ×

Writing a prompt for every SKU. Peec's guide says to start with category prompts, since products are matched to them automatically, and to reserve product prompts for hero items.

  • ×

Filling the prompt set with branded questions. Peec advises keeping branded prompts to roughly 15 to 20% so the number reflects discovery.

  • ×

Ignoring merchant share. A product card that links to Amazon is visibility, but not a sale on your own store.

  • ×

Checking only your own price. Peec compares catalog price with the price AI mentions, and a gap means the assistant is quoting a retailer or a stale page.

  • ×

Assuming Google AI Mode and Perplexity are covered when the tool's shopping view is ChatGPT-only.

  • ×

Optimizing listicles instead of product pages. After GPT-5.6, product pages were 16.39% of ChatGPT's retrieved pages and listicles fell to 8.19%.

Expert Tips

  • →

Start with category prompts such as 'best running shoes for beginners', then add hero-product prompts only where you need detail.

  • →

Compare catalog price with mentioned price weekly on your top products, and fix the source page when AI quotes the wrong number.

  • →

Use the shopping queries the tool reports as feed targets. Peec says they overlap heavily with Google Shopping search, so one list serves both.

  • →

Keep product pages crawlable and complete: specifications, price, and availability in the HTML. A blocked or script-gated page leaves a targeted ChatGPT search with nothing to retrieve.

  • →

Check the feed against OpenAI's nine required fields before you debug visibility: item_id, title, description, url, brand, seller_name, image_url, availability, and price.

  • →

Report direct purchase link share beside visibility, and pair both with AI referral traffic from your analytics or from Peec's AI referrals report.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • !

A shopping tracking claim with no named surface, such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, or Perplexity.

  • !

A shopping module that sits on an enterprise tier behind a pricing card showing only a lower number.

  • !

SKU claims with no catalog import or stated matching method.

  • !

Visibility without position or win rate. A product that appears often but sits at position eight is barely seen.

  • !

No view of which merchant gets the click, so a card that sends buyers to a marketplace counts as a win.

The Bottom Line

Start with Peec AI at $95 a month if you sell your own products and can import a catalog from Shopify, a CSV, or a Merchant Center feed. Pick Otterly at $29 a month if you only need to watch ChatGPT Shopping Cards on a few categories. Ask Profound or Writesonic for a demo only when SKU count or retailer share outgrows that. Import ten hero SKUs this week, and keep the tool only if its product table matches what ChatGPT shows by hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best AI visibility tool for ecommerce in 2026?

Peec AI is the best starting point for a brand that sells its own products. Its AI Shopping view imports a catalog from Shopify, CSV, or Google Merchant Center and reports visibility, win rate, and position per product, with plans from $95 a month. Otterly is the cheapest way to watch ChatGPT Shopping Cards, from $29 a month, and Profound and Writesonic go deeper under custom contracts.

Can I track ChatGPT Shopping results?

Yes. Peec, Profound, Evertune, Otterly, Writesonic, Rankscale, and Promptwatch all describe ChatGPT shopping tracking. Peec and Profound work at the product level, Otterly records Shopping Cards in brand reports on every plan, and Promptwatch includes Shopping Insights on its Business plan. Check which plan carries the feature, since several pages do not say.

Do these tools work with Shopify?

Peec fetches a Shopify catalog from the store's public products.json feed with no file upload, and AthenaHQ's Shopify integration publishes AEO-optimized content and attributes revenue to AI search. Other tools accept a CSV or a Merchant Center feed or work from tracked prompts without a catalog. Feed managers such as GoDataFeed are a separate purchase.

How do I get my products into ChatGPT shopping?

OpenAI's product feed specification lists nine required fields: item_id, title, description, url, brand, seller_name, image_url, availability, and price. OpenAI says to use that format only after it confirms it for your registered feed, and that checkout needs a separately enabled integration. Keep product pages complete and crawlable too, since retrieval is shifting toward first-party product pages.

Do these tools cover Perplexity and Google AI Mode shopping?

Mostly not. Peec, Profound, Evertune, and Otterly describe ChatGPT. Rankscale lists ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Copilot shopping visibility. Perplexity runs a Merchant Program for sharing product details, but ask each vendor which shopping surfaces it captures before you buy, because coverage beyond ChatGPT is thin.

How much do ecommerce AI visibility tools cost?

A published shopping view starts at $29 a month on Otterly Lite and $95 on Peec Starter, with Rankscale Pro at $99. Promptwatch Business is $579 a month and Evertune Pro is $800. Profound, Writesonic's tracker, Scrunch Enterprise, and Semrush Enterprise AIO are custom quotes. Feed management is a separate cost.
