About KyttoMCP
KyttoMCP is a local control panel for Model Context Protocol servers. It is not itself a server an agent calls but the layer above them: one interface that reads the MCP configuration files used by Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and Codex, shows what each client has enabled, and edits those configs in place. That addresses the problem anyone running more than a handful of servers runs into, where the same entry has to be copied, tweaked, and kept in sync across several JSON files by hand. Beyond editing, it inspects. Running a handshake against a configured server returns its advertised tools, prompts, and resources along with protocol details and stderr output, which is how a silently failing server gets diagnosed instead of guessed at. It estimates the context window cost of each server and of a whole configuration, flags duplicate tool names across servers, and warns when a stack is over budget. Profiles group servers into focused sets, so a coding stack and a research stack can be swapped without retyping anything. Every change is preceded by a timestamped backup with atomic writes and external change detection, and earlier configurations can be browsed and restored. It targets developers who have accumulated enough MCP servers that configuration became its own maintenance task. Everything runs locally with no account and no cloud sync, credentials stay on the machine with optional masking and system keychain storage, and activity logging records metadata without capturing payloads.
