About Ready Player Me
Ready Player Me was a cross-platform avatar creation system that let game developers integrate customizable 3D avatars into their applications. The platform enabled users to create personalized avatars from selfies or manual customization, then carry those avatars across thousands of supported games and apps. In December 2025, Netflix acquired Ready Player Me and shut down the public service on January 31, 2026. The technology is now used exclusively within Netflix gaming ecosystem. Developers previously using the platform must migrate to alternatives.
