CloudZero MCP

CloudZero's MCP server lets an AI client interrogate cloud, SaaS, and AI spend the way an engineer would ask a FinOps colleague. Rather than handing over a flat bill, it exposes the cost data model: the dimensions CloudZero allocates spend across, such as team, product, feature, customer, and environment, plus the ability to query cost over a time range and break it down by any of those dimensions. Budgets, cost anomalies, and optimization findings sit behind the same interface, so an agent can notice that a service jumped in cost, trace which dimension drove the increase, and surface the related savings recommendation in a single pass. Because CloudZero maps untagged and shared resources into the same allocation model, the figures an assistant reports line up with what finance sees instead of drifting from it, which is usually where ad hoc cost queries fall apart. The intended users are engineering and FinOps teams already running CloudZero who want cost context available inside their coding tools, so a developer can ask what an architecture change is likely to cost before shipping it, and a platform lead can review per customer unit economics without building a report. Access follows the API key supplied at setup, keeping the agent inside the permissions of the account it connects with.
