Mist Systems FAQ
How does Mist's AI-Driven RF Optimization (RRM) differ from traditional RRM algorithms?
Mist's AI-Driven RRM utilizes reinforcement learning to continuously maximize user experience (SLE) and minimize interference in real-time. It dynamically adapts based on client experience, learns and deprioritizes triggered DFS channels, and acts as an ongoing 'Site Survey,' unlike basic RRM which often relies on static, periodic adjustments or simple pattern recognition.
What specific advantages does Mist's virtual Bluetooth® LE offer over other location technologies?
Mist's virtual Bluetooth® LE virtualizes the indoor experience using machine learning and patented antenna technology, eliminating the need for physical battery-powered beacons. This provides ease of deployment and scalability for personalized location services, a significant improvement over solutions that rely on battery-dependent hardware.
Can Mist Systems provide microsegmentation for IoT and headless devices?
Yes, Mist's WxLAN feature classifies IoT and headless devices and segments them by policy. It includes a stateful firewall in the Access Point (AP) with device and application awareness, providing robust microsegmentation without requiring additional licenses or equipment that competitors often demand.
How does the Mist Installation App streamline the deployment process for Access Points?
The Mist Installation App for iOS and Android allows users to easily scan QR codes, claim APs, and place them on site maps. It supports auto-provisioning, including site assignment, dynamic profile assignment, and AP name generation, which can speed up installation by over five times compared to manual or basic app-based methods.
What level of insight does Wired Assurance provide for network management?
Wired Assurance measures wired experiences using Service Level Expectations (SLEs). It offers switch templates within the UI, dynamic port configuration compatible with any RADIUS server, and port profiles with manual or dynamic configuration based on endpoint type, providing comprehensive insight into the wired network's performance and health.
