Sanity MCP

Sanity is a headless content platform where structured documents live in datasets, are described by a schema defined in code, and are queried with GROQ. The official remote MCP server exposes a project to an AI agent so content work can happen inside a chat client or a coding assistant instead of the studio UI. An agent can list the projects and datasets it has access to, read the schema to learn which document types and fields exist, and find content through GROQ queries or semantic search across documents. Write tools cover the normal editorial cycle: create a document, patch fields on an existing one, publish or unpublish it, and remove drafts. Content releases and document versions are addressable too, which means an assistant can stage a batch of changes inside a release and hand it to an editor to schedule, rather than pushing edits straight at the published dataset. Because the schema is readable, generated documents match the types the front end already expects. It runs as a hosted endpoint authenticated against a Sanity account or a project token, and it honors dataset roles, so an agent given a read only token cannot mutate content. The audience is content teams that want bulk edits, migrations, translations, and metadata cleanups handled by an assistant, and developers building editorial agents and content workflows on top of Sanity.
