Strapi MCP

Strapi's MCP server exposes a Strapi CMS project to AI clients so an agent can work with the actual content types a project defines. It can list those content types and their fields, read entries along with their relations and media references, create and update entries, and publish or unpublish them. That covers the everyday editorial loop without anyone opening the admin panel, and it means the agent discovers the schema rather than being told about it. The control layer matters as much as the tool list. The server runs against Strapi's existing permissions model, so an operator decides which content types an agent may touch and whether it can write at all. Read only access is a defensible default for anything pointed at a production project, and a common arrangement is letting an assistant draft and file entries while a human keeps the publish step, which preserves editorial review. The users are developers and content teams running self hosted or cloud Strapi projects. For developers it means an agent can inspect a schema and seed realistic test content while building a frontend, instead of hand writing fixtures. For editors it means bulk work such as updating one field across many entries, or turning a long document into structured entries, can be described in a sentence rather than clicked through screen by screen.
