What is Stytch MCP?
Stytch is an authentication and user management platform, and its MCP server puts a Stytch workspace in reach of an AI coding client. It runs as a remote endpoint authorized over OAuth rather than a pasted API key, and it lets an assistant read and change workspace configuration: projects and their environments, redirect URLs, email templates, and the settings behind auth methods such as magic links, passwords, OAuth logins, passkeys and B2B organizations.
The practical use is keeping configuration work in the editor. When an agent scaffolds a login flow it usually also needs a redirect URL registered, a template adjusted or a project setting flipped, and those steps normally mean switching to the dashboard and back. With the server connected the assistant does them in place, and it can check the actual state of a project before writing code against it instead of assuming what is configured.
It is worth separating this from Stytch's other role in the MCP ecosystem, because the two get conflated. This server is for operating your own Stytch account. Connected Apps is a different Stytch product that sits in front of an MCP server you build, handling OAuth 2.1 authorization, consent and token issuance so agents reach your API with scoped, revocable access. Teams shipping an MCP server to customers care about the second one. Teams building auth into an app care about this one.
