Trigger.dev MCP

Trigger.dev is an open source platform for background jobs and long running workflows written in TypeScript, with durable execution, retries, queues, scheduling, and a full trace for every run. Its MCP server exposes that platform to a coding agent, so the model can operate the project directly instead of asking a developer to switch to a terminal or the dashboard. It ships with the Trigger.dev CLI and reuses the CLI login, which means an agent only reaches the projects and environments the developer is already authorized for. Once connected, an agent can list the tasks a project defines, start or stop a local dev server and check its status, trigger a task with a payload it builds itself, list runs filtered by status or environment, and pull the details and trace of a single run to work out why it failed. Deploying to a chosen environment is exposed as an action too, which collapses shipping a change and watching the run into one conversation. A read-only mode hides the write tools so the agent can inspect and debug without being able to deploy, trigger, or cancel work. The fit here is developer tooling rather than data access. It pays off most for teams whose agents write background jobs, because the model can scaffold a task, deploy it, run it, read the failure trace, and iterate without a human relaying logs between windows.
