Retool MCP

Retool's MCP server lets a coding agent operate inside a Retool organization rather than around it. Where the usual workflow is dragging components in the visual editor, this exposes the app definition itself: an agent can read an existing app's structure, create new apps, edit components and their bindings, wire queries to configured resources, and push the result into the org so it appears for the rest of the team. Authentication is a Retool API token, so the agent is scoped to one organization and to the permissions attached to that token. The workflow it enables is iterative. Describe an internal tool, let the agent scaffold the layout and the queries against the databases and APIs already registered as Retool resources, open the app to check what it built, then send corrections back in natural language. Because those resources and their credentials stay configured in Retool, the agent composes against connections that already exist instead of being handed database passwords directly. It targets the people who build internal tooling, which in most companies means a small platform or operations engineering group serving many stakeholders. The value is throughput on the long tail of admin panels, dashboards and support tools that are individually simple but collectively eat a team's week.
