ShipStation MCP

ShipStation Connect MCP is a documentation server, and being clear about that is the whole point. It gives an AI coding assistant structured access to the ShipStation API reference so it writes integration code against real endpoint definitions instead of half-remembered ones. The agent can enumerate the available operations across shipping resources, pull request and response schemas for a specific endpoint, read the narrative guides and tutorials, and retrieve code examples showing the accepted patterns for common flows like rate shopping or label creation. It does not move packages. The server carries no account credentials and performs no shipping operations, so it cannot buy a label, create a shipment or read order data. Those calls still go directly to the ShipStation API with keys from a ShipStation account. What the MCP server removes is the loop where a developer pastes documentation into a chat window one page at a time, and the failure mode where an assistant invents a field name that never existed in the spec. The audience is developers building against ShipStation: ecommerce engineering teams wiring up rates, label purchase and tracking, and agencies integrating merchant stores with fulfillment. Because it only serves public reference material, it is a low risk first MCP server to connect, with essentially no permission surface to reason about.
