Spendesk MCP

Spendesk's MCP offering is a conversational layer over the Spendesk API, letting authorized finance users ask questions of company spend data from an AI assistant instead of exporting reports. Typical questions are the ones finance teams answer weekly: what the current cash position looks like, which invoices are still pending payment, and how spend in one period compares with another across teams or cost centers. Answers are computed from live Spendesk data, so the assistant reports what the ledger says rather than reconstructing an estimate. The design is deliberately read oriented. Retrieval and analysis are exposed; the sensitive workflows around approvals and payment execution stay inside Spendesk with its existing controls. That boundary is the point of the product: finance teams get faster answers without an assistant being able to release a payment or approve a request on their behalf, and access is scoped to authorized users rather than opened to the whole company. It connects AI clients to the Spendesk platform, and the company positions it as infrastructure for agent driven finance workflows where a spend management system becomes a data source other tools can question. The audience is CFOs, financial controllers and analysts at companies already running Spendesk for cards, expenses, invoices and procurement, particularly those who spend time assembling the same recurring answers about burn, committed spend and outstanding invoices for leadership.
