Tiger Data MCP

Tiger Data MCP ships inside the Tiger CLI, the command line tool for Tiger Cloud and TimescaleDB, and exposes that tooling to an AI client over the Model Context Protocol. It splits into two groups. Service management covers the lifecycle of a database service: listing services, fetching details for one, creating a new service, forking an existing one, starting and stopping, resizing compute, rotating the password and pulling service logs. The database tools are what most agents reach for. A query tool executes SQL with parameter binding and a configurable timeout, and a schema tool returns a full picture of the database including tables, views, materialized views, enums, functions, procedures, indexes, triggers and the TimescaleDB specific metadata for hypertables and continuous aggregates. That last part matters for time series work, because an assistant that cannot see chunk and rollup structure will write queries that ignore both. The server also proxies documentation tools, so an assistant can search PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB reference material and retrieve task guides in the same session it is writing queries. Credentials come from the CLI login already present on the machine, so there is no separate token setup step. It targets developers and data engineers who want an assistant to explore schemas, draft and run analytical queries, and fork a service for safe testing without switching to a web console.
