Cheaper Linktree Alternatives in 2026: What a Creator Pays for a Custom-Domain Link Page

TL;DR

Prices checked 20 Oct 2026: for a creator selling $500 a month, Carrd Pro Standard has the lowest 12-month total of the nine tools priced here, $19 billed yearly before payment-provider fees, with a custom domain, no branding and Stripe or PayPal widgets for sales, though its pages itemise no link-click report. Taplink Business is $96.00 on a 12-month prepay, and Beacons Creator Plus follows with a 0% seller fee. Linktree Pro is $144 for 12 months billed annually, its pages list the sales fee as both 0% and 9%, and it supports no custom domain.

Nine link in bio tools compared on yearly plan fee, sales fee, custom domain and branding removal for one seller, with prices read on vendor pages on 20 Oct 2026.

40 Creator Platforms tools tracked

A free link in bio page stays free until the creator needs a custom domain, no vendor branding and a checkout. After that the bill depends on the unit each vendor charges on and on a sales fee that can cost more than the plan. This guide prices one creator who sells a digital product through the page for $500 a month, which is $6,000 over 12 months. Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 40 creator platforms, and 60% of the creator platforms on Toolradar are free, freemium or open source, so whatever the share, the question for a seller is what the custom domain, branding removal and checkout cost.

The scenario, S1, is one link page on a custom domain, no vendor branding, link analytics, an email capture block and a way to sell a digital product, for 1 user, billed yearly, in USD. A row's total is the 12-month plan fee plus the vendor's own printed fee on the sales, which is our arithmetic. Stripe and PayPal processing fees are left out, and so is domain registration unless a vendor page says it is included.

Linktree is the baseline, not a pick. Its cheapest plan that removes branding is Pro, at $12 a month billed annually or $15 billed monthly, and its help center says Linktree does not support custom domains. Its pages also disagree on sales fees, so the S1 baseline is a range, $144 to $684.

Methodology: starting from the 40 tools in the creator platforms category, we read the vendor pages of twelve link page tools on 20 Oct 2026, ranked nine and set Linktree aside. Later and Flowcode were read and left out: Later has a Link in Bio feature set but is priced as a scheduler, with Starter at $18.75 a month billed yearly, above Linktree Pro, and Flowcode is priced as a QR platform. Every price is billed yearly unless a row says otherwise. Ranks 1 to 5 list a custom domain, branding removal and a way to sell on the plan priced, sorted by S1 total. Ranks 6 to 9 miss at least one of those and are sorted the same way, with the gap named.

What a link in bio page is

A link in bio page is one hosted page, linked from a social profile, that gives followers many links, a signup form and sometimes a checkout from a single address. Prices differ on four things: whether the page can sit on your own domain, whether the vendor's branding can be removed, what the vendor keeps from each sale, and the unit the plan is charged on.

Eight of the nine tools are built around a link page or a small site: Carrd, Taplink, Beacons, Lnk.Bio, Milkshake, Campsite.bio, Stan Store and Bio Sites. Bitly is a link and QR manager with a Pages feature. Linktree is the leader they are measured against; see also Linktree alternatives and Linktree vs Beacons.

Why the sales fee and the unit decide the choice

The plan fee is the small number. A 9% fee on $6,000 of yearly sales is $540, more than any 12-month plan fee in the table. Linktree's comparison table lists 12% on Free, 9% on Starter and Pro, and 0% on Premium. Beacons lists 9% on Free and Creator and 0% from Creator Plus, and Milkshake lists 12%, 12%, 9% and 7% from Free to Pro+.

A sales fee and a flat plan swap places as volume changes. Beacons Creator is $100 a year with a 9% fee, so Creator Plus costs less once yearly sales pass $2,222.22, or $185.19 a month. Milkshake Pro+ at $99.99 plus 7% costs less than Beacons Creator Plus below $2,857.29 of yearly sales and more above it. The order here holds near S1, not at every sales level.

The unit matters when you run several pages. Carrd prices 10 sites in one plan, Campsite.bio adds a yearly fee per extra profile, and Taplink says one Instagram profile takes one plan. Linktree's FAQ sends multiple Linktrees to a quote-only Agency and Enterprise plan.

Key Features to Look For

  • Custom domain (Essential)

Carrd Pro Standard, Beacons Creator, Taplink Business, Campsite.bio Pro and Milkshake Pro+ list one, and Lnk.Bio Unique lists a .bio domain free for the first year, then $75 a year. Linktree and Stan Store say they do not support custom domains, and Bio Sites describes forwarding one.

  • Branding removal (Essential)

Carrd Pro Lite at $9 a year, Lnk.Bio Unique, Milkshake Lite, Campsite.bio Pro, Taplink Business, Linktree Pro and Beacons Creator Plus remove the vendor's branding. Beacons Creator keeps it, and Stan Store removes it only on Creator Pro at $948 a year.

  • Sales fee (Essential)

Stan Store prints 0% on both plans, Taplink's Business card says payments arrive without additional fee, and Campsite.bio lists 0% for a limited time with no end date printed. Carrd prints no sales fee on the pages read.

  • Link analytics (Important)

Campsite.bio shows 14 days of clicks on Free and 60 on Pro, Milkshake lists 30 days of Insights on Free and 365 on Pro, and Linktree's table lists 28 days of history on Free, 90 on Starter and 365 on Pro. Beacons lists Advanced Traffic Analytics on all four plans.

  • Email capture (Important)

Linktree Free lists email and phone sign-ups and Beacons ticks email collection on every plan. Carrd forms start at Pro Standard, Campsite.bio and Milkshake at Pro, Taplink at Business and Lnk.Bio at Unique.

  • Billing unit and term (Important)

Lnk.Bio prices per account and Unique is a one-time payment. Taplink has a three-month minimum, Bitly Core is annual only, and Milkshake is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • What stays free (Nice to have)

Beacons' free plan sells at 9% with 50 email sends a month, Campsite.bio Free keeps unlimited links and 14 days of clicks, and Milkshake Free sells through Stripe at 12%. Taplink Basic, Lnk.Bio Free and Bio Sites are free too. For most of them the first paywall is the domain or the branding.

What to check before you pay for a custom-domain link page

  1. Start from the domain. If the page must sit on your own address, Linktree and Stan Store are out at every price, per their help centers.

  2. Multiply yearly sales by each printed fee before comparing plans: 9% of yearly sales is $540 and 7% is $420.

  3. Read the billing term. Taplink's 3-month tab is $48.00 against the 12-month prepay, and Campsite.bio's monthly Pro price becomes a lower yearly one.

  4. Count your pages. Carrd covers 10 sites in one plan, Campsite.bio charges per extra profile and Taplink wants one plan per Instagram profile.

  5. Confirm the checkout route. Campsite.bio lists tips and requests only, Bitly Pages lists no payment row, and Carrd's Stripe Checkout forms need Pro Plus at $49 a year.

Evaluation Checklist

  • Write down yearly sales and multiply them by each vendor's printed sales fee before comparing plan fees.

  • Find the plan that lists a custom domain, then check that branding removal sits on the same plan.

  • Note whether each price is yearly, monthly, quarterly or one-time, and compare only like with like.

  • Check what the free plan keeps: analytics history, email capture and the sales fee.

  • Read the help center wording on domains, because forwarding a domain is not the same as serving the page on it.

Prices read on 20 Oct 2026, US view, in dollars: Linktree (pricing, domains, fees), Carrd (Pro, features, payments), Taplink (pricing, FAQ), Beacons, Lnk.Bio (pricing, Shop, domains, free .bio domain), Milkshake, Campsite.bio, Stan Store (plans, fees, domains, branding, trial banner, home page), Bitly and Bio Sites (site, fees, domains). Later and Flowcode were read on Later pricing and Flowcode pricing. Each total adds the plan fee to the printed vendor fee on $6,000 of sales. Taplink's list prices differ by visitor location, so only the US view is quoted.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • ×

Comparing plan fees only. Beacons Creator is the cheaper plan, but with its 9% fee on yearly sales it totals $640, against the plan fee alone on Creator Plus.

  • ×

Reading a per-month equivalent as a monthly price. Linktree Pro's $12 is billed annually, and billing monthly costs more per month.

  • ×

Assuming every link page can use your own domain. Linktree and Stan Store both say they do not support custom domains.

  • ×

Trusting a plan card over the comparison table. Linktree's Pro card says 0% fees while its table lists 9% on digital products.

  • ×

Ignoring the prepay term. Taplink Business costs $48.00 for 3 months and twice as much per month as the 12-month prepay.

  • ×

Treating a free plan's sales fee as free. Linktree Free and Milkshake Free both list 12%, which is $720 on the scenario's sales.

Expert Tips

  • →

Multiply yearly sales by the fee before you choose, because a flat plan beats a percentage only above a break-even volume such as $2,222.22 a year on Beacons.

  • →

Price the domain on its own. Campsite.bio's FAQ says you buy a custom domain separately from a registrar, while Lnk.Bio Unique includes a .bio domain for one year.

  • →

For several brands, find the vendor's unit first: Carrd counts sites, Campsite.bio counts profiles and Taplink counts Instagram profiles.

  • →

Check the analytics window of the free plan: Campsite.bio keeps 14 days, Linktree 28 days and Milkshake 30 days.

  • →

Pick the checkout before the page. Campsite.bio Pro has none, which still works if you link to a seller you already use.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • A plan card and a comparison table that disagree on fees, as on Linktree's Pro plan.

  • A custom domain that only forwards, as in the Stan Store and Bio Sites help centers.

  • A price that varies by country or platform, as Taplink's list prices and Milkshake's app store billing do.

  • One plan sold two ways on the same page, as Lnk.Bio lists Mini monthly and one-time.

  • A 0% fee marked limited time with no end date printed, as on Campsite.bio.

The Bottom Line

For a creator who needs a custom domain, no branding and a way to sell, start with Carrd if you will wire your own checkout, Taplink Business if you want selling built in and can prepay 12 months, or Beacons Creator Plus if a 0% seller fee matters at your volume. Linktree supports no custom domain at any price, so it is out if you need one. Re-read each plan and its sales fee before paying, because fees and prepay terms move the total more than the plan price does.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a cheaper alternative to Linktree for a custom domain and no branding?

Carrd Pro Standard is $19 a year billed yearly and lists custom domains, no branding, forms and Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad widgets. Linktree supports no custom domain. Taplink Business is $96.00 on a 12-month prepay, and Beacons Creator Plus is the next plan with a custom domain, no branding and a 0% seller fee. Prices checked 20 Oct 2026.

Does Linktree support a custom domain?

No. Linktree's help center says every Linktree uses its own linktr.ee/yourusername address and cannot be replaced with your own domain. Redirect, available on Starter, Pro and Premium, sends visitors to a link you choose. Stan Store also says custom domains are not supported. Checked 20 Oct 2026.

Is there a free Linktree alternative?

Yes. The free plans read here list no custom domain served on your own address, and most keep vendor branding. Beacons' free plan sells digital products at 9%, Bio Sites is free to create with up to 10 pages per account and an 8% fee on digital downloads, Campsite.bio Free keeps 14 days of click data, and Milkshake Free sells through Stripe at 12%. Checked 20 Oct 2026.

How much does Linktree Pro cost, and what does it charge on sales?

Pro is $12 a month billed annually or $15 billed monthly, with a 7-day free trial. The page disagrees with itself on sales fees: the Pro card says 0% fees, the comparison table lists 9% on digital products and courses with 0% only on Premium, and the FAQ cites $0.25 per payout, which the help center lists as a Stripe fee. At 9%, Pro totals $684 on $6,000 of yearly sales. Checked 20 Oct 2026.

Which link in bio tool has no sales fee?

Stan Store prints 0% on both plans, Beacons lists 0% from Creator Plus, and Linktree's table lists 0% only on Premium. Taplink's Business card says payments arrive without additional fee, Campsite.bio lists 0% for a limited time, and Carrd prints no sales fee on the pages read. Stripe or PayPal processing still applies on every row. Checked 20 Oct 2026.

What does it cost to run three link pages for three brands?

Counting each vendor's own unit: Carrd Pro Standard covers 10 sites in its one yearly plan, Campsite.bio Pro with two extra profiles comes to $100 a year, and Taplink Business needs one plan per Instagram profile, so three on the 12-month tab cost $288.00. Bio Sites is free for up to 10 pages per account but serves no custom domain. Checked 20 Oct 2026.
