Time tracking is cheap to buy and uneven to like. Toolradar tracks 100 tools holding 76,110 reviews. The median entry is $7 a month, the lowest of any category in this series. Clockify holds 9,468 reviews at 4.70. Connecteam holds 8,924 at 4.60. TSheets holds 7,229 at 3.80. FreshBooks, tagged here for its timers, holds 5,507 at 4.50. The free-first timers outscore the payroll-adjacent defaults.

Every figure below is computed from the Toolradar directory on September 17, 2026. The live dashboard is Time tracking statistics. The buyer ranking is best time tracking software.

How large the category is

We track 100 published tools, or 0.9% of the 10,619 tools in the directory. 93% (93 of 100) were added to Toolradar in 2026. "Added" means added to our directory, not founded this year.

A $7 timer is a rounding error. The product you actually run is the one that survives payroll export.

How these tools are priced

49% of the 100 tools are paid-only. 51% offer a free tier or freemium plan (51 tools). 7% are fully free.

How this data was measured

Every figure in this report is computed live from the Toolradar directory on September 17, 2026, covering the 100 published tools we categorize under Time tracking. Pricing model is read from each vendor's official pricing page. The entry price is the cheapest positive monthly tier a tool publishes. Ratings and review counts are aggregated from third-party platforms (G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and others), not from Toolradar's own reviews. The leaderboard floor is 150 aggregated reviews. This is a directory snapshot, not a survey.
